She’s 1930s nightclub singer Adelaide Moffett and you’ll hear three of her recordings with three different orchestras in the fourth segment of this week’s edition of the show. You’ll also find out all about her very interesting life and career. Also getting a first-time birthday segment this week is Ivie Anderson, known as “The Voice of Ellington” and you’ll hear three of her records with the Ellington orchestra. In other segments, we’ll do some pedaling, not peddling, but pedaling, we’ll listen to some church bells and you’ll find out what pie plant is and who pie plant is!  There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era.
