Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – October 4, 2020

Listen Later

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

This week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records starts off with an early first time birthday salute to Louis Wesleyn. The 1920s expression “So’s Your Old Man” is a response to an insult, essentially meaning “same to ya” or to express general disagreement or hostility. In 1926, W. C. Fields made a picture titled “So’s Your Old Man” and in the third segment of tonight’s show we’re going to hear some rapidly rotating records about old men. In other segments, we’ll be going green, hear about some Rosalie’s, and even though it’s not his birthday, Fred Douglas gets his own segment. There’s plenty of great music and interesting information, so just click below for the complete playlist and to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.

ENJOY THE SHOW!

I hope you are all safe and healthy and doing as well as you can be given the current world situation and stay-at-home orders and that this hour of music gives you a bit of diversion and entertainment. Thanks for listening and best wishes!
