Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
This week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records starts off with a first time birthday salute to Phil Cook in which you’ll find out some very interesting information about him, not to mention hearing a rather unusual recording he made. But that’s not Phil Cook in the photograph above. That distinguished looking gentleman is Barnabas von Geczy who was a very popular bandleader in the 1920s and 30s. He starts off the third segment of the show, all about ponies. In other segments we’ll get razzled, we’ll have a digital segment, finish up with a couple of songs about footwear. You might want to have a tissue handy for the first song in the last segment. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so…
I hope you are all safe and healthy and doing as well as you can be given the current world situation and stay-at-home orders and that this hour of music gives you a bit of diversion and entertainment. Thanks for listening and best wishes!
