Shabnam Curtis the author of 'My Persian Paradox: Memories of an Iranian Girl' was born and raised in Tehran, experiencing the Iranian Revolution of 1979 firsthand. In 2004 she immigrated to the United States, where she now works as a project performance analyst. Shabnam teaches memoir writing workshops and is working on her second memoir. She lives in Sterling, Virginia, with her husband and two dogs.

Jerry Vis, was born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1939, where he lived for most of his childhood. He attended Parson’s School of Design, NYC where he received an associate degree for graphic design in 1962, after which he attended SUNY New Paltz in New York were he finished work for a BFA degree in 1965. He then went on to complete graduate work at Rutgers University, New Jersey in 1970 for an MFA Degree. In 1962 he married Betty Louise Pascale and moved from New Jersey to New York. They had three children.

Starting in public relations in New York, she moved into the music business, theater and film publicity until being recruited by the legendary Pat Kingsley in Los Angeles. She made the move to LA and is now passionate about California. She has worked in the production and development of film and television projects as a publicist, and as a script doctor.
