Raw vs Nitro - Reliving The War

This episode of Reliving The War marks the final ratings battle between Raw and Nitro in 1995. Also, this is a landmark episode thats to the reintroduction of Madusa in WCW. Many fans know that the former Alundra Blayze showed up on Nitro on 18.12.95 to dump the WWF Women's Championship on a live WCW show. This is covered in today's upload.

Its 12.11.1995. We are 1 week away from WWF In Your House 5 where Bret Hart will defend the WWF Championship against The British Bulldog. Along with this match, the WWF have been building up a tag team bout featuring Razor Ramon and Marty Jannetty vs Sycho Sid and The 1-2-3 Kid. Over on the WCW side, the company is heading towards their annual Starrcade event that will see Randy Savage defend the WCW Championship against either Sting, Lex Luger or “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. This week’s episode of Nitro is from Charlotte, North Carolina… and The Four Horsemen have plenty of fans in attendance.

We have arrived at episode 13, it's the 4th of December 1995, Raw is showing taped matches while Nitro is live on TNT. The WWF will present an intercontinental title match on Raw this week while WCW plans to grab viewers attention with a WCW Heavyweight Championship match. Superstars featured on Raw and Nitro include Razor Ramon, The Giant, Ric Flair, Sid, Fatu, Lex Luger and The British Bulldog.

This series takes a look at each week of the iconic Monday Night Wars. We have arrived at episode 12, it’s the 27th of November 1995. WCW have just finished up with their November Pay Per View where Macho Man Randy Savage became the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Over on the WWF side, another new champion was beginning his third reign, Bret “The Hitman” Hart had defeated Diesel at the Survivor Series 1995 PPV and he was getting prepared to defend the title against all challengers. Superstars included in this episode of “Reliving The War” include Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Lex Luger, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Bret Hart and Bull Nakano.

This weeks shows would prove to be landmark episodes of both Monday Night Raw and Monday Nitro. On the WCW side, the very first Sting vs Hulk Hogan match would air for free in the Nitro main event. Sting and Hulk Hogan would later break WCW PPV records, but here on Nitro we got to see the Hogan vs Sting match for the very first time. Over on WWF Raw, Shawn Michaels' push to the WWF championship would begin when Shawn collapses in the ring. Shawn has a match with Owen Hart, and when Owen hits an enziguri on Michaels, Shawn collapses and Raw goes off the air.

This time we will look at the 13.11.95 editions of WWF Monday Night Raw and WCW Nitro. As the WWF gets ready for the 1995 Survivor Series and the Bret Hart vs Diesel WWF championship match, WCW are still going along with the "darkside" Hulk Hogan storyline. This week, Hogan completely loses the plot while Sting wrestles Dean Malenko in the main event. WWF Raw presents an excellent interview with Bret Hart and Diesel along with a Razor Ramon main event.

As the WWF begins the march to the 1995 Survivor Series, WCW is STILL trying to get over what happened at Halloween Havoc 1995. This episode of Reliving the War features The Giant vs Cobra, Rhyno's first WWF appearance, Hulk Hogan hanging out with some homeless dudes, and Eric Bischoff allowing fans to decide on the Nitro main event.

With WCW gaining an early lead in the Raw vs Nitro "Reliving The War" series, can the WWF get the win this week? Raw features the WWF debut of Goldust while Nitro trys to explain what happened at the Halloween Havoc 1995 pay per view.

This episode of Reliving The War looks at the WWF In Your House 4 fallout show along with WCW's Halloween Havoc 1995 go-home show. WWF gives us a 20 man battle royal featuring the likes of Sid, Bam Bam Bigelow, Owen Hart and the 1-2-3 Kid while WCW presents guys like Eddie Guerrero, Kurosawa, Dean Malenko and Harlem Heat on their weekly Nitro broadcast.
