Wright State baseball coach Alex Sogard took some time to join Chris Collins live at Mode X for the coaches show this past Monday night. Coach Sogard and Chris Collins highlighted the upcoming First Pitch Banquet thisweekend.

The voice of the Youngstown State Penguins joins us this week to preview the big ESPNU showdown between two of the top four teams in the league as the YSU Penguins get set to take on the Wright State Raiders in Dayton Thursday night at 9pm. This will be the second matchup between the two with game one belonging to the Penguins back in early January.

The Milwaukee Panthers currently sit third in the Horizon League standings as we sit here in mid-January but their road gets tougher as they get set to take on Northern Kentucky, Wright State, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne in four of their next five games. Joining Justin Kinner on the podcast this week is the voice of the Panthers Scott Warras. The guys highlight the upcoming stretch for the Panthers and how they stack up against the rest of the loaded Horizon League.

ESPN's Jordan Bernfield is this weeks guest on Reach The Horizon - Jordan has called Horizon League basketball on ESPN for quite some time now and he shares his thoughts on the changes in the league over the years and the state of the conference today. Jordan will be on the call this Friday night on ESPN2 for the big showdown between two of the top teams in the Horizon League - The Wright State Raiders at the Youngstown State Penguins.

Northern Kentucky enters Horizon League play at 7-6 on the season but the big story following the Norse is the unfortunate loss of one of their star players Sam Vinson. The voice of the Norse Jim Kelch hopped on the podcast with us to recap NKU's non-conference run and how they look heading into conference play. The voice of the Green Bay Phoenix Men Women's Basketball programs joined Justin Kinner on this weeks edition of Reach The Horizon - The guys talked about the scheduling approach for mid major programs and how the records can be misconceiving heading into conference play. Kuklinski highlighted the women's success vs Top 25 opponents recently shared what makes the hire of the men's new head coach Sundance Wicks so impactful.

We are officially a month and some change into the 2023-24 college hoops season for both men and women - There is not a program in the Horizon League that has both the men and women's programs rolling more than the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons. Our guest on this weeks edition of Reach The Horizon is none other than the voice of the men and women's Mastodons Mr. John Nolan.

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies have battled one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the Horizon League this season. They have come close to knocking off a few high major programs such as Ohio State and Illinois but fell just short. The impressive non-conference run continued however as the Golden Grizzlies put the Horizon League and all of College Basketball on notice with a huge win on the road over Xavier earlier in the week. The voice of the Golden Grizzlies Neal Ruhl joined Justin Kinner on the podcast this week to highlight the Grizzlies impressive non-con victory.
