✅ ABOUT THE STORY:
Have you ever found yourself wanting to fly like the girls on T.V. and the squirrels in the tree? Tina does – she's decided to become a gymnast! She wanted to try cartwheels across the couch and go up on her legs. But instead of landing on her feet, she bounced around her bottom. OUCH! The little girl soon learns that gymnastics isn't as easy as it looks. With lots of practice, persistence and hard work, she learns to flip and tumble safely.
✅ ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
From a very young age, Danielle Soucy Mills loved to flip around their house. Afraid she'd get hurt, her mother signed her up for gymnastics lessons, and the rest was history. Her love for sport and passion for the written word led her to write "Tina Tumbles", a gem of a children's book that shares lessons on hard work, facing fear and perseverance to pursue their dreams. "My mom was also a huge fan of books and reading and working as a library assistant. She was always giving me books, and she'd say, Oh, well, there are no gymnastics books. Many who resonate with their own childhood story enjoyed these activities, with parents trying to manage a child's energy and introducing them to the sport. It becomes something you become passionate about and really can't live without."

✅ ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Navjit Sandhu, known as Navi, is a licensed early childhood educator with fifteen years of professional experience. The idea for her book came when as a preschool teacher, she was planning a curriculum around multiculturalism and themes. "I found it so difficult to find books that were diverse and represented different cultures, and so at that time, I had a thought in my head that it would be so nice if there were more diverse books since Dora the Explorer was the only thing that there was at that time. I thought it would be so lovely to have something in my language. Fast-Forward 20 years, I just kept writing down ideas, and when I was pregnant with my son, I wrote the book, and it took me a couple of years to get it out after that."
Navjit continues to spread and celebrates inclusiveness, diversity, and multiculturalism in children's literature. She currently lives in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, with her husband, two sons, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law.
