I could be president of The Sandie Docker Fan Club. I love her novels- the small town communities, the intergenerational secrets and mysteries her novels all contain..The Redgum River Retreat is absolutely my new favourite, I loved the three generations of strong, brave females we meet within these pages. I loved learning more about the Australian WW2 Homefront. I loved the love of music that I could just feel, and the healing power of music that informs the Redgum River Retreat..this is a beautiful story, heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time!
Just a really rewarding read
This novel sings bookclub; there is just so much to talk through!

I loved this novel, it's a completely 'what if you wake up and no-one knows you' premise which turns out I am completely there for! I couldn't have loved this novel more. I knew the international rights and film rights had already been sold so when I asked if I could have an interview I was completely delighted that Michael Thompson had the time and want to chat! And I could have kept him on the zoom all day, what an interesting author! What a great road to published novel...
This novel has Wondering Women Read all over it, as well as it being a great TGIF Bookclub book..there is so much to think about and talk through with Tommy's annual reset, I loved every second of it! So if you like the sounds of this head on over to the website where you can join in the fun...

Didn't you just love The Last Painting of Sara de Vos! When I saw the name Dominic Smith I knew Return to Valetto would be completely wonderful and I was not disappointed! Absolutely loved this novel! So when I was given the opportunity to chat with Dominic Smith you had better believe I jumped! And he was even nicer and more generous than I could have imagined! Such an honour to have had the opportunity to record this podcast; I hope you too are wondering what 20 something person is called Susan, because I was not ashamed to ask the big questions....
Return to Valetto will make an absolute perfect Hissy Fics Book, so if you like the sound of this novel it will absolutely be one we discuss in ReadA Book.
I've also taken the liberty of buying a copy to give away just to celebrate me getting to take with an internationally best selling author..see my newsletter or socials for details...(you had better believe I have been itching to say that!!)

Twisty and so edge of your seat reading! I loved this latest thriller from Kelli Hawkins! I loved Rory, I loved being beside her as she navigates her PTSD in the confines of her apartment. It was wonderful to chat with Kelli about the Apartment 303..I honestly don't know how she gets through her to do list! So creative! So clever!!
Apartment 303 will absolutely be one for the Aussie Thrill Seekers so I'm really looking forward to deep diving into who done what territory... hope you enjoy this spoiler free conversation and appreciate how difficult it was not to talk about everything!

I love Steve Matthews, I could chat with him all day long, and did; this is another hasty OK bye ending...historical thrillers is a genre I don't normally read, but I am SO glad that I did. It really is edge of your seat reading and talk about a cliffhanger...it's great now that the trilogy is complete!!
In this ep we talk about all of Steve's books, his Hitler trilogy and Skinny Girl, we also do a fair bit of general chitchat about the strength of women and please rest assured I took out most of the giggling, I'm only human..any conversation with Steve would end in laughter, he's that type of person!

This is a real testimony to how excited I am to have spoken with Ali Lowe. I spoke with her yesterday morning and here is the episode out today! The Running Club came out on Wednesday and I just was so pleased to have gotten the opportunity to speak with her I jumped at the chance! Love her writing style, characters and themes of wealth and entitlement...it was a real treat to have been able to talk with Ali, I loved it!
And, if you like the sound of The Running Club it is absolutely one we'll be doing in ReadA Book, this one definitely has Aussie Thrill Seekers and TGIF vibes all over it...

Could have chatted with Dianne for ages longer! I was too busy chinwagging I completely ran out of time and so didn't even wind up the conversation one little bit, it completely cuts out...and I would do it all again tomorrow I'm sure. Dianne Yarwood was just too lovely I couldn't tear myself away.
I really loved The Wakes, and I am sure you will too! It's a great novel about middle-aged people living their lives...for this 45 almost year old it was just a delight!

Love the novel, love the author; loved the conversation! What a delightful debut Lenny Marks Gets Away With Murder was, and I was that pleased to be able to chat with the author. I couldn't tear myself away!
There aren't any real spoiler warning that I need to give for this conversation, but Lenny is the victim of Childhood crime so a trigger warning is more appropriate. I thought it was really sensitively handled.
When you have read Lenny get ready for some bookclub action over on the website, this is a novel made for discussion!
