  • Bonus Pop Culture: In The Heights
We are taking a small detour from our usual book group structure to look at some of the pop culture going on around us. And of course: we share related books! Check out our full show notes here, with links to the books we are sharing. As we always do: grab your book, grab a beverage, and maybe get your streaming subscription warmed up because you are going to want to see this! The story is simple: "A feature version of the Broadway musical, in which a bodega owner has mixed feelings about closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother's fortune." It is the story of Latinx Americans, but relatable to so many people who wonder about home, how to make it, and where you belong.
