Readyforthedraft.com's Gregg Schutze shares his passion for the NFL draft and takes you on a journey leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft.
Week 0 of the college football season is here. We have a number of games Saturday August 27th and Gregg breaks down some of the matchups and players to watch. Northwestern's Peter Skoronski, a legitimate 1st Round candidate, will do battle against Nebraska's Ochaun Mathis and a quartet of LB's led by the fiery Garrett Nelson. Bret Bielema will rely on a power run game at Illinois led by RB Chase Brown, who should have his way with a young Wyoming defense. We get out first look at FSU OT Robert Scott, Jr. to see if he can emerge as a Day 2 OT. Josh Downs is primed for another breakout season, but will be doing so without Sam Howell as UNC takes on Florida A&M.
Gregg also looks at the WR position and offers his top 10. Who will be on top? Will it be Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Kayshon Boutte or Jordan Addison? Will Downs or Marvin Mims be this year's Jahan Dotson? Which big WR will garner 1st Round consideration? Will it be Quentin Johnston? AT Perry? Or how about Cedric Tillman?

This episode is dedicated to the RB position. While we didn't see a RB taken in Round 1 of the 2022 draft, I expected Breece Hall to be off the board before the Jets picked in the 2nd Round. Early results point to New York getting a steal at the top of Round 2. That said, while there doesn't seem to be a question that Bijan Robinson will be a 1st Rounder, just how high will he come off the board? And will an explosive back a la Travis Etienne from just a couple years ago hear his name called on Day One? Could it be Jahmyr Gibbs? Will Sean Tucker be next? The next tier is filled with power backs that lack breakaway speed and speed backs who don't bring a power element to their game. Who will rise to the top of that list? And is Rasheen Ali the most overlooked back in this year's draft class?

With the college football season just three weeks away, it's time to take a positional look at the draft eligible prospects for the 2023 NFL Draft. Episode dives into the top QB's to keep an eye on during the 2022 college football season. We know that Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young and Heisman finalist CJ Stroud are at the top of the list, but the big question is who will be the No. 3 QB? Will Levis and Tyler Van Dyke seem to be like the likely candidates. Devin Leary and Brennan Armstrong are under-the-radar QB's who are primed for big seasons in the ACC, while Phil Jurkovec is hoping to rebound after an injury-riddled 2021. Anthony Richardson is an imposing athlete, but can he put it all together at QB? And what can we expect from Kedon Slovis and Spencer Rattler at their new programs?

The countdown is on to the start of the 2022 College Football Season. Last episode, we took a look at the top offensive prospects to be on the lookout for during the season. This episode it's all about the defense. We know about Will Anderson, Jr. and Jalen Carter up front, but we should expect the likes of Isaiah Foskey, Noah Sewell, Eli Ricks and Antonio Johnson to make some noise this year. Will we finally see another prospect from Army to be taken in Round 1? Andre Carter II has a great shot. Can Nolan Smith step out of the shadows of the LB's who were drafted this past season? Can Bryan Bresee and Tyler Davis return from injury to join Carter in the top half of Round 1?

We're less than a month away from the start of the college football season! Are you ready??? Who are the offensive players to keep an eye on during the 2022 season? Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young and Heisman finalist CJ Stroud will battle it out to be the top QB, but who's favored to be the No. 3 QB? Who's the top WR in this class - Jaxon Smith Njigba, Kayshon Boutte or Jordan Addison? Is Michael Mayer a 1st Rounder? Gregg wraps up his positional breakdown with the secondary, covering both the cornerbacks and safeties and breaks down where he sees the prospects being the best fit at the next level and where they will be coming off the board. Both draft classes are deep, but the top of the class at their respective positions are Ahmad Gardner and Kyle Hamilton. However, we can expect four CB's and as many as three safeites off the board in Round 1. Who's going to be the 5th CB? Just how many safeties are coming off the board in Round 2? And who will be the sleeper Day 3 selections?
Gregg also looks at the specialists as he sees three punters and a kicker coming off the board on Day 3 of the draft.
