President Donald Trump takes the stage tonight at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at The Oncenter in Syracuse, New York. Doors open at 3 p.m. ET, the program begins at 5:30 p.m., and Trump's remarks are scheduled for approximately 7 p.m. ET. The president heads to Central New York with less than a month remaining before the November 3 midterm elections.
Trump is campaigning alongside Republican gubernatorial nominee Bruce Blakeman, the Nassau County executive challenging Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul. Blakeman is seeking to break the Democrats' hold on Albany, with immigration enforcement, public safety, and New York's sanctuary policies emerging as major issues in the race.
Republican congressional candidate Kailee Buller is also scheduled to speak. Buller is challenging Democratic Congressman John Mannion in New York's 22nd Congressional District, a closely watched House race as Republicans fight for control of Congress. Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood, the Republican lieutenant governor candidate, has also been mentioned as a potential attendee.
Thousands of Trump supporters are expected to gather at The Oncenter, while opposition groups have organized a demonstration at Clinton Square. Local authorities are preparing for road closures, heightened security, and significant crowds throughout downtown Syracuse.
