Chinese President Xi Jinping's first White House visit in more than a decade wrapped Thursday night with a South Lawn arrival, military honors, a B-2 / F-22 flyover, Oval Office talks, and a state dinner packed with U.S. tech chiefs. Steve Bannon says the networks showed almost none of it. He is not selling the visit. He is saying it was still huge news — and they skipped the tape.

CNN, MS NOW, and Politico were banned from the White House last week. A federal judge ordered their access restored Thursday. Hours later, reporters were still being blocked from dinner arrivals. Bannon and Neil McCabe frame it as the press covering its own credentials fight instead of the summit.

McCabe's line: when the CNN anchor reappears, it looks like Cleopatra returning to Egypt. The show's charge is simple — last night was about them, not the event.
