Join us as we conversation about our brother #TDJakes who recently announced that he is a part of a 10-year deal with Wells Fargo. The interesting thing about this connection is Wells Fargo have been in the press heavily for at least the last past 5-7 years for nothing but for being racist and discriminatory against people of color when it comes to lending.
According to CBS:
The T.D. Jakes Group and Wells Fargo have unveiled a groundbreaking, 10-year partnership aimed at creating inclusive communities for people of all income levels. The announcement was made on "CBS Mornings" on Thursday.
As part of the collaboration, Wells Fargo has committed up to $1 billion to fund a variety of projects that foster community development.
Bishop T.D. Jakes emphasized the importance of taking action right now and helping minority groups.
"The future looks very bleak, particularly for minorities," he said. "Black people, Brown people and also poor White people who are finding it difficult, workforce people, to find a job, to find opportunities to get housing, to get upward mobility."
The inaugural project of the partnership focuses on the development of mixed-income housing and retail facilities outside of Atlanta. The location for the venture is an expansive, 95-acre property formerly known as Fort McPherson, which neighbors Tyler Perry Studios.
Jakes said he has two primary motivations to participate in the partnership. First and foremost, he considers his legacy to be important and wants to give back and make a positive impact on the lives of those who have shown loyalty and support.
His second motivation stems from helping create mixed-income housing, which will provide better opportunities for generations to come.
"The reason mixed-income housing is vitally important is because we tried low-income communities before and they fall into the abyss and become ghettos," Jakes said. "Mixed-incomes have a much better result, safer, better schools, better opportunities, upward mobility."
The T.D. Jakes Group is comprised of four business units, including T.D. Jakes Ministries and T.D. Jakes Foundation, both of which operate as nonprofit organizations. T.D. Jakes Enterprises and T.D. Jakes Real Estate Ventures function as profit-oriented entities.
Bishop T.D. Jakes also presides over the Potter's House Church, although the partnership with Wells Fargo is not affiliated with the church.

The prevalence of high blood pressure among Black people in the United States is among the highest in the world.
About 55% of Black adults have high blood pressure, also known as hypertension or HBP. Black people also have disproportionately high rates of more severe HBP and it develops earlier in life.
Historical and systemic factors play a major role in these statistics. Among them are adverse social determinants of health, the conditions in which a person is born and lives. The determinants include lack of access to care, lack of access to healthy foods and other societal issues.
Lack of access to medication, and distrust of health care professionals based on historical discrimination, are among contributing factors to a lower adherence to blood pressure medications.
Certain medications also may be less effective in controlling HBP in some Black people, and they may require two or more medications to achieve their BP goal.
Factors Leading to HBP
Higher rates of obesity and diabetes increase the risk for high blood pressure and heart disease. Statistics show Black people face disproportionately high rates of both conditions.
High blood pressure, when not controlled, can lead to other conditions and even death. HBP is a major risk factor for stroke, heart failure and kidney disease.
Overcoming the Challenges of Blood Pressure Management
A healthy weight and diet, plus physical activity, can go a long way toward lowering blood pressure. But many people struggle with these issues because they aren’t simple for everyone.
For example, Black neighborhoods lack stores that stock healthier foods. And areas that have historically lacked investment often don’t have safe places to walk, run or exercise.

Activist, former Nation of Islam minister
Khallid Abdul Muhammad called himself a “truth terrorist” and a “knowledge gangsta,” and he was clearly at war with the status quo. A spokesman allied with the Nation of Islam, Muhammad ignited a storm of controversy through his dynamic, emotional speechmaking. Having attacked Jews, homosexuals, the Pope, and white South Africans, Muhammad was labeled a dangerous racist and anti-Semite. To his followers, however, he was a force for positive change, empowerment, and cultural pride in the African-American community who simply told the truth as he saw it. According to Rogers Worthington in the Chicago Tribune, Muhammad “can be entertaining one moment, and chilling the next. He’ll talk of the need for black self-love, self-help, discipline and independence in one breath, and in the next he’ll launch into a fiery anti-white, anti Semitic diatribe assigning blame for all of black America’s ills.”
After 1992 Muhammad took his message all across the country, to colleges and lecture halls, attempting to reach troubled young African Americans. He has clashed— though not seriously—with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who noted in Emerge: “Brother Khallid is like a stallion, a beautiful black stallion. And it takes God to ride such a gifted horse. He will buck, that’s his spirit, he’s a warrior. His spirit is his love for his people.”

In 2015, scientists discovered something surprising: that some Indigenous peoples in the Brazilian Amazon were distantly—but distinctly—related to native Australians and Melanesians. The genetic signal of Australasian ancestry in so far-flung a population sent researchers scrambling for answers. A new study reveals this genetic signal is more prevalent throughout South America than thought and suggests the people who first carried these genes into the New World got it from an ancestral Siberian population.
The finding also sheds light on those people's migration routes to South America. "It's a really nice piece of work," says Jennifer Raff, an anthropological geneticist at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, who wasn't involved in the study. It shows that the 2015 finding "wasn't just an artifact. It really is a widespread genetic signal."
Anthropologists think bands of hardy hunter-gatherers left Siberia and entered the now-submerged land of Beringia, which then connected Eurasia and Alaska, when sea levels were much lower than today—perhaps about 20,000 years ago. Then, about 15,000 years or so ago, some departed Beringia and fanned out into North and South America. These early migrants made good time: By 14,800 years ago at the latest, radiocarbon dates suggest they were setting up camp in Monte Verde in southern Chile.

Recorded history says: Portrait of an Inca Nobleman and his Sons: painted by native Andean painter, Andres Sanchez Galque (1599). The Inca are depicted wearing Spanish clothing, but with Inca gold adornments and are captioned with Spanish names, prefixed by ‘’Don’’ meaning lord or gentleman.
It is the oldest known signed and dated painting from South America and is said to have been commissioned by a colonial official as a gift to the king of Spain.
