Prior to the Physical Creation, there was a Spiritual Creation. The Bible describes Jesus as “the image of the invisible God”. Therefore, His spiritual purpose is to govern over all things, and hold everything together.

Jesus Christ was before all things. Before anything physical appeared, Jesus was already there. His pre-existence is unique to Jesus alone. He even announced His origins to those gathered around Him that “before Abraham, I am.”

Real Biblical Christianity is not a spectator faith. True faith is about being involved, as Christ was in this world. The giving of our love, energy, care and resources are never lost or wasted in the economy of God.

Pastor Jack asks us to think about what we hold in our hands as worshippers of God. We not only hold wisdom, but power, grace, holiness, light and love. And when put to action, it looks like mercy, and compassion.

The power of giving puts us nearer to one another. Together, we hold the glory of God in hand, with our actions, and by responding to the needs around us. When we give, we are being like Jesus, and pleasing the Father!

The power of giving comes with one rule, and that is to multiply it! The promise of God supplying all our needs without limit is limited to those who render themselves in need, because of their generosity towards others.

The power of giving teaches us about God’s amazing economic structure. God takes the temporary things of this world, and transforms them into tools for His eternal kingdom. And, God is inviting us, as fellow workers, to get involved.

The power of giving puts us before God’s throne. We each have to give an account before God of all that we have. God has given each of us gifts to share. And, as good stewards, we are to honor God with our possessions.

God’s evaluation of giving is different from man’s. God is not concerned about the amount we give. It’s when we give, even when we ourselves are in need, that our gifts will be holy, acceptable and pleasing to the Lord.

The power of giving puts us where the action is. When we give our support to the ministry, we are granted immediate access to the work of God. And, there is deep satisfaction in knowing we have helped others in their time of need.
