A wilderness in Scripture is often a picture of spiritual and physical desolation.
Elijah faced a wilderness. So did Moses and the Hebrews. Even Jesus faced temptation in the wilderness.
Today, we find David in the wilderness at Ziph, a place where he is hounded by a relentless enemy (Saul) who is out to steal, kill, and destroy him.
And yet, God isn't destroying David in this wilderness but rather is building him. God uses Jonathan to strengthen David's hand in God, to lend him God's strength.
Join me today on Rinse and Repeat as we look at when a stronghold isn't necessarily a bad thing and when a wilderness can actually grow us stronger!
