Whenever I have conversations with Gail, I feel like it hits straight in my heart. Last week I spoke with old friend Reverand Gail Love-Schock. Gail is an interfaith minister, amongst many other magical things.

I caught up with Lynn Enright, author of Vagina: A Re-education.

We discussed how repeal the 8th, combined with movements such as metoo and timesup, became a catalyst for sparking conversations that have long been overdue surrounding women's sexuality, womens' health and even the language used to describe out own bodies. Lynn's book, Vagina a Re-education highlights many of these topics , we talk about her why, how and what inspired her to write the book which now adorns many bookshelves worldwide! 

At the time of recording Lynn was the Acting Digital Director at Grazia magazine. She is also a journalist that has written for publications such as Vogue, Stylist, The Independant, The Financial Times & The Irish Times.

In January I flew to Amsterdam to meet with Photographer Sophie Ebrard. After phone calls and emails back and forth in the latter half of 2019, I knew Sophie's voice was an important one to be heard.

Sophie's discomfort with the motherhood transition is common, but more commonly left unheard. The resistance to becoming a mum stayed with Sophie for years following her pregnancy and the birth of her son Jules. It's this experience that inspired Sophie's body of work, 'I didn't want to be a mum' which exhibited in Amsterdam in 2019.

Clio Wood is founder of & Breathe Wellbeing, writer and speaker on postnatal sex & intimacy.

Clio & I first met through a mutual friend who said we needed to have a coffee, the conversation went from a polite hello to the depths of intimate relations and all that's in between almost immediately. Clio is opening up conversations around postnatal wellbeing from a physical, emotional and sexual standpoint. Encouraging connection and vulnerability while providing people with the space to explore that. Clio is founder of and Breathe Wellbeing, a retreat company that mirrors her personal values and provides that physical space for new families. And Breathe now offers retreats for different stages of a woman's life from pregnancy, postpartum and menopause.

Speaking from a personal point of view, Clio gives an honest and raw glimpse into the postnatal period and how this can affect everything from self worth to sex, but Clio is not only bringing attention to this, she's offering support and encouragement to move through it.

The Self Space offers good conversation with qualified people for everyday mental maintenance. 

I met with founder, Jodie Cariss to talk about why she founded The Self Space, how therapy and mental wellbeing should be a part of our ongoing self-care and how the culture around seeking therapy is changing. 

Workplaces, fast paced industries and even social media platforms have been starting to destigmatise seeking support and many companies offer resilience trainings in order to support their staff from a mental and emotional standpoint. We talk about this and how vulnerability needs to sit hand in hand with resilience. How social media can be detrimental to our mental health but also how learning to implement our own boundaries are crucial, to take responsibility for our own mental wellbeing in the same way we do our physical.
