Today we speak with Todd Pias, REALTOR®.
Todd has been in the industry since 2004, both on the residential and commercial side. He found that he much preferred the residential aspect of real estate as commercial was all about the numbers. “I found no emotional connection there.”
With his experience in retail management, Todd says he developed a lot of good skill sets that led him to what he does now as a REALTOR®: Taking care of the customer, hoping to make the experience unparalleled for them, and helping them make memories.
“A lot of that is not the real world,” Todd says, in response to his view on the misconceptions of what people think of real estate agents because of portrayals on industry reality shows. “What we do is relentless, it’s hard work — every day is different. You put on a different hat every day and just take it as it comes.”

In this encore episode, Myrtle Hall discusses the different hats she must wear as a solo agent, the many varied duties that are required day-to-day. “Of the most entailed and important duties is to be your own marketer, and making sure that time is managed wisely — trying to generate business, find new business opportunities,” she said.
“Everybody thinks this is easy...that we do absolutely nothing throughout the day. There’s a lot we do when it comes to marketing, to what I call ‘hustling’, and how you have to be the best decision-maker, consultant, for the person, whether they’re buyer or seller.”

In this episode, Chairez details her background in Human Resources Management with Amazon, and what inspired her to shift career paths to explore the real estate industry. She also touches on the importance of asking for help, and communicating with clients – and how that impacts the buying and selling experience. In this episode of Real Voices Podcast, we talk with Jared Slater, REALTOR®
Prior to getting into real estate and getting his license, Jared Slater was a boat captain, and the owner/operator of a scuba diving charter company. “{Being a boat captain} is similar to becoming a real estate agent,” Jared says. “There’s a certification process that you have to go through, the schooling is intense. But once you get out of the schooling, the real life application means nothing…just like the real estate industry. The stuff they teach you is nothing like the real world!”
Finding his footing after a time and having to learn most things on his own, Jared discovered his niche to be in the education of first time homebuyers. “Part of the education process is running different advertisements to attract those buyers, but really offering service. There’s no catch, there’s no gimmick in it…it’s literally ‘lead by service.’”

Listening to clients’ needs and wants, and clients working with the agent’s expertise — it has to be collaborative, Brittini says. Marketing and touch points are at the backbone of her business and their team. “Even though they (clients) might not spend two seconds looking at that postcard,” she says, they’ll know that she is consistently working and ready for them. “You really have to be alive in your community.”
