  • Episode 361: I Got Un-Hungry Tonight
I was hungry today and was gonna eat something. But then, a little while later, I realized I wasn't hungry anymore. That's when this song sprang into my head. It's a song about losing one's appetite. I wrote one about a year ago with the same theme, but this one's old-timey country music style and the other one isn't.

  • Episode 360: I Like Dandelions
I was running today and I saw some dandelions. I didn't know what my song today was gonna be about, so I decided to make it about dandelions. I like 'em, even though lotsa people don't. Sometimes I see really short, little dandelions - just short enough for the lawnmower blades to miss them. Sometimes, I wonder if natural selection is weeding out all the tall ones (pun intended).

  • Episode 358: Don't Burn Down the Entire State (With Fireworks)
As promised, here's a version of the song with the fireworks sounds in it (near the end). Fourth of July makes me nervous cuz California is a tinderbox, and people setting off fireworks that they're not supposed to set off is a bad thing. Some asshole was setting off fireworks 3 nights ago, and it created a fire that grew to 5 acres in less than an hour. It came very close to where I live. Thank God for the LA fire department. Suffice it to say, all those fireworks make me nervous in a state that is burning down.

  • Episode 357: Don't Burn Down the Entire State (Sans Bombs)
This is a song, where I'm intending to put the sounds of fireworks going off tonight on it. But, as the song suggests, I'm concerned that the assholes setting off illegal fireworks are going to burn down the entire state. I figured, if I had to evacuate, I wouldn't be able to post this here song, so I'm gonna post it now without the fireworks sounds on it. Stay tuned: I'll post the version of it with the fireworks on it if I don't have to evacuate because of a giant fire, set off by assholes with fireworks.

  • Episode 356: I'm Not Gonna Celebrate the 4th of July
Yeah, I'm still steaming mad about the fact that people with uteruses no longer have the freedom to control their own bodies in this country. I wonder how many other people are going to lose their rights. This is just the beginning of our descent into Hell. Welcome to the New America, folks! That said, I'm not celebrating the 4th of July. That's what this particular depresso-song is about.

  • Episode 353: Bye, Bye, Bye
This is a song about havin' to say goodbye because of havin' to go far away. It's about a thing that's happening in real life. Most of me is kinda excited about it, but part of me is really sad. The sad part of me is singing this song.

  • Episode 352: When My Voice Issues All Get Sorted Out
This is the next song in the possession album; it's about how my voice got all f****d up at the end of the album and how I wanna go back and fix those songs later on, when my voice issues get sorted out (I think I'm getting closer - we'll see). I started a-wondering, too, if maybe there's some weird, subconscious thing going on with my voice - like maybe the self-sabotaging part o' me somehow made my voice all janky so it would ruin the album. I tend to do my worst work at the end of a project consistently. Is it self-sabotage? Or nervousness about trying to make sure the ending doesn't suck? Maybe it's all of the above. But the good news is, when I move onto some other project, I'll probably be less invested in this one, so I won't care as much when I go back and redo the songs where the vocals sucked, when I finally get around to it.
