Rebecca Pittenger's Podcast of Weird Songs

I did a slowed-down redo of the cortex rap cuz I wanted a version with more easy-to-understand lyrics. I dunno if I succeeded, though.

This is a song about how most of us living in America are scared all the time, cuz we can barely afford to pay rent and taxes and stuff. These conditions simulate what it would be like to not have a cortex, which gives us higher reasoning ability, the very reasoning ability that might allow us to make positive change. This is exactly where the powers-that-be want us - in a state o' fearfulness where we're too stupid to make change.

I wrote a song about smoking both cigarettes and pot. Which is more scandalous probably depends on whether you live in a state where it's legal to smoke pot or not. In the song, the narrator worries that Mister Rogers'll hate her if she smokes.

In this song, Timmy and Bobby decide to have an exorcism done on their friend, so they have a priest named Father O'Malley come over to perform the rite.

This song is horrible and sad. It's about a cat, who pees outside the litter box. The cat's owners decide to euthanize her for that reason.

In this song, the next song in the Possession album, the me-character starts to see visions as if looking through the fire-god's eyes. She sees dead people that got burnt for being witches. Yeah, this is a wee bit on the dark side.

I got all depressed just now and recorded this here rough demo about bein' all depressed and wanting to listen to Linkin Park.

This is where you learn the fire-god's secret in the album about possession. He's ashamed and feels like he can't go home and face his friends because the Puritans used fire, the thing he's a god of, in order to burn alleged witches.

In this song, it becomes clear that Timmy and Bobby need to spring into action in order to save the me-character from being possessed by a fire god. But they don't know what to do.

In the possession album, Timmy and Bobby find out from the me-character that I was told by my grandma in a dream that I'm being possessed by a fire god. No one knows what to do.
