Laleczka z saskiej porcelany
https://youtu.be/d8egVEecBPQ?feature=shared

Undoubtedly, some melodies also heal our souls during times of health struggles...
My daughter fell ill, and when that happens, she doesn’t want to interact with anyone, not even with me, her mom LOL... So, I told my husband to take care of her because whenever the girl has any health issues, she only connects with him, her dad, and no one else.
As is normal, a sick baby at home doesn’t let the adults rest, simply because their only way of expressing discomfort when they can’t yet speak is through crying. When my daughter gets sick, she has remarkably strong lungs because she turns into a professional lyric soprano, hitting countless musical notes with her voice as she sheds tears.
It was nearly midnight. Benjamin took her in his arms and secluded himself in our bedroom with her while the rest of the family stayed in the living room, worried because her fever wouldn’t go down, even with the medications prescribed by the pediatrician.
Yet, in my heart, I felt peace, so I told everyone, especially my in-laws, who were the most stressed about their granddaughter, that we needed to wait, that we had to give the girl’s body a reasonable amount of time to recover and respond to the medication, allowing the infection to subside.
I spoke from experience, not just from a mother’s heart that trusts her children will be okay, but from what I lived through and experienced almost four years ago. We all went to our rooms to try to rest, to rest and pray to the only one who, for us, holds the solutions to “possible impossibles”: our Creator.
When I entered the bedroom, I saw my husband cradling our daughter while pacing around the room... That scene brought back so many memories, to the point of tears, not because of Shprintzel’s vulnerability, but because of the song my husband was singing, almost whispering, as if it were a lullaby.
Every word he sang, every phrase, reminded me of myself, and more tears fell because in my heart and mind, episodes of my life that I’ll never forget remain blurred, moments when I was in an intensive care unit, hovering between life and death.
One of the things he did while keeping me company, sitting in a chair he asked to be placed next to my bed, was read to me every day. But on one occasion, I was extremely stressed because I woke up from a horrific nightmare, one of those that tries to kill your soul.
I couldn’t stop crying, and the only way my husband found to calm me and stabilize my vital signs was to sing a melody—not just any melody, but the same one he sang to my daughter a few days ago to help her relax amidst her pain:
Laleczka z saskiej porcelany
The song Laleczka z saskiej porcelany is an iconic piece of Polish music, created by lyricist Jacek Cygan and composer-singer Majka Jeżowska. Released in 1990 on Jeżowska’s album Wow!, the song tells a poetic and melancholic story about a small Saxon porcelain figurine, a ballerina who lives on a vanity beside a mirror. The lyrics describe her solitary existence, without parents or longings, surrounded by antique objects like a Persian rug, a proud vase, and a candelabra.
The arrival of a porcelain prince figure awakens a new feeling in her, a “heart” that beats, and she dreams of dancing for him while he secretly applauds. However, the fragility of the porcelain world becomes evident when a gust of wind slams a window shut, shattering the prince and leaving the little doll alone again, with a porcelain tear as a symbol of her loss.
The song, with its nostalgic tone and gentle melody, evokes the fragility of happiness and the pain of loss, resonating deeply with audiences for its sensitivity and lyricism.
The song has transcended generations, maintaining its relevance in Polish culture, from its inclusion in educational materials at the Polish Song Museum in Opole to its use in children’s theater, such as a 1928 piece by Maria Gerson-Dąbrowska, which shares the title but not the story. Its versatility and emotional depth have made it a classic, capable of adapting to different contexts while preserving its poetic essence.
I also have my version through this "Cover-Karaoke" in the BlurtMedia video...
I think this is where I’ll end my personal reflection for today. Thank you for joining me in this video from start to finish. May my Creator and Sustainer allow my husband and me to share again in a new opportunity granted by life.
A big hug, and may you have a wonderful day, with peace in every corner.
See you soon.
Singing lifts your mood by releasing endorphins, those feel-good chemicals that spark joy and reduce stress. It’s like a natural high, no equipment needed. Belting out a tune also strengthens your lungs, boosting oxygen flow and improving breathing, especially for those with respiratory issues. It’s a workout for your diaphragm and core muscles, too, promoting better posture and stamina.
When you sing, you engage your brain, sharpening focus and memory—think of it as a mental gym session. Group singing, like in a choir, builds social bonds, fostering a sense of belonging and reducing feelings of loneliness. It’s also a creative outlet, letting you express emotions that words alone can’t capture. For kids, it enhances language skills and confidence. Even if you’re off-key, the act of singing can lower cortisol, calming your nerves. It’s accessible, free, and universally human—anyone can do it, anywhere, anytime.
And the chosen song is:
Małe tęsknoty
https://youtu.be/fdCeJAVxjPs?feature=shared
The Polish song “Małe tęsknoty,” performed by Krystyna Prońko and recorded between January and April 1980, captures the fleeting, delicate nature of human longing through its poetic lyrics and gentle melody. Written by Agnieszka Osiecka with music by Katarzyna Gärtner, it speaks of small, almost insignificant yearnings—moments of nostalgia and quiet dreams that stir the heart briefly before fading.
The song compares these feelings to a bell that sings at the slightest touch, the voice of stray birds, or a leaf beautiful for a moment before the wind carries it away. These “little longings” and “sudden flutters of the heart” are universal, arriving unannounced, coaxing a tear or a pang of sorrow, then vanishing like an uninvited guest by dawn. Its imagery—cloud-like dreams, fragile as smoke—evokes the ephemeral quality of emotions we all recognize but rarely hold onto.
I shared this BlurtMedia post "cover-karaoke" because “Małe tęsknoty” always brings my dad to mind. The melody, the wistful lyrics—they carry his spirit, his quiet moments of reflection. It was one of his favorite songs, one he’d hum softly while lost in thought. Singing it now feels like a conversation with him, a way to hold onto his memory. Each note is a tribute, a thread connecting me to him, keeping his presence alive in my heart.
Singing for my dad stirs a deep well of emotions, a mix of warmth and ache that’s hard to untangle. The song’s gentle melody and tender lyrics pull me back to moments with him—his quiet smile, the way he’d hum it while sipping coffee or gazing out the window. Each note I sing feels like reaching across time, a bridge to memories that are vivid yet fleeting. There’s joy in honoring him, in giving voice to something he loved, but it’s laced with a sharp pang of loss, knowing he’s not here to hear it.
The act of singing becomes a release, a way to process grief while celebrating his presence in my life. It’s cathartic—tears might come, but so does a sense of closeness, like he’s still part of the song. The music lets me hold both the love and the longing, weaving them into something beautiful, something that feels alive. It’s not just a song; it’s a ritual, a way to keep him near, to feel the weight and warmth of his memory in every verse.
I leave you the English translation:
Small Longings
Like a bell that merely needs a touch to start singing
Small longings, fleeting longings
They appear out of nowhere, all sniffly and cold
Small longings, fleeting longings
Small longings, quiet dreams
I think this is where I’ll end my personal reflection for today. Thank you for joining me in this video from start to finish. May my Creator and Sustainer allow my husband and me to share again in a new opportunity granted by life.
A big hug, and may you have a wonderful day, with peace in every corner.

Today's Topic: Inner Strength
Not every day do we wake up with the spark of positivity ignited. Sometimes our mood dips, but we all carry within us a strength we sometimes forget—a fire that burns even when the world tries to extinguish it. It’s that spark that lifts us when we fall, that pushes us to keep going when everything seems lost. It’s not something visible at first glance; it lives deep in the soul, in that place where we keep our dreams, hopes, and the certainty that we are bigger than our problems.
Activating that inner strength isn’t always easy, especially when problems surround us like shadows. Life can feel like a storm: debts, disappointments, fears, or failures that weigh like rocks. But it’s precisely in those moments, when everything seems dark, that we must look within. The first step is to pause and breathe. Listen to the silence, even for a moment, and remember who we are beyond the circumstances.
That pause connects us with our essence, with that inner voice that says, “You can do this.” To ignite that strength, we must accept that problems are not the end but part of the journey. Every obstacle is a lesson in disguise, an opportunity to grow. It’s not about ignoring the pain or pretending it doesn’t exist, but about facing it head-on and deciding it won’t define you. Ask yourself: What can I learn from this? How can I use this situation to become stronger? Changing your perspective turns a problem into a challenge, and challenges awaken courage.
Action is the fuel for that inner strength. Feeling it isn’t enough; you have to move it. Take a step, even a small one. Write down what you feel, talk to someone you trust, take a walk to clear your mind, or do something that reminds you of your ability to create and move forward. Strength doesn’t grow in inactivity but in movement, in the decision not to give up. Sometimes, that step is simply getting out of bed and saying, “Today, I’ll try again.”
It’s also key to surround yourself with what inspires you. It could be a song that fills you with energy, a phrase that reminds you of your worth, or a person who believes in you even when you doubt yourself. Those small external lights help fan the inner flame. But above all, trust your story. Every time you overcame something in the past, every tear you dried, every fear you faced, was proof that this strength is already in you.
You don’t have to look for it outside; you already carry it. In the midst of problems, remember you’re not alone. Your inner strength is not just yours; it’s part of something bigger: human resilience, our collective ability to be reborn. So, when you feel the world is too heavy, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and find that spark. It’s there, it’s always been there, ready to remind you that you’re stronger than you think. You just have to decide to ignite it.
Strengthening your inner strength is like training a muscle: it requires practice, consistency, and conscious focus. Here are some practical tips to cultivate and keep it alive, especially when problems try to dim it:
Meditation: My husband says that every human being, without exception, should dedicate at least five to ten minutes a day to being in silence, focusing on conscious breathing. This calms the mind and connects us with our center of gravity. If you don’t have apps on your phone, a quiet place is enough... try to visualize your challenges as passing clouds, not eternal storms.
Journaling: Put your thoughts and emotions on paper. Write down what worries you, then rewrite it from a solution-oriented perspective: What can you control? What small step can you take? This organizes your mind and reinforces your ability to face problems. You can even turn this into short stories, storytelling, or light novels to broaden your perspective.
Positive affirmations: Without falling into excessive motivational hype that can lead to unhealthy pride, create short, powerful phrases that remind you of your worth, like “I am capable of overcoming this” or “My strength grows with every challenge.” Repeat them in the morning or during moments of doubt. It sounds simple, but it reprograms your mind over time.
Physical exercise: Moving your body releases endorphins and reduces stress. You don’t need a gym; walking for 20 minutes or dancing at home activates your energy and reminds you that you have control over something. Consistency here strengthens both body and mind.
Connect with your purpose: Reflect on what deeply motivates you: a passion, a person, a value. Write a sentence that sums up that “why” and recall it in tough moments. This acts as an anchor to keep you focused.
Practice gratitude: Each day, write down three things you’re grateful for, even if they’re small, like a hot coffee or a kind conversation. This shifts your focus from what’s missing to what you already have, feeding your resilience.
Learn something new: Take a course, read a book, or try a new skill. Mastering something, even if small, boosts your confidence.
Embrace failure as a teacher: Change your view of mistakes. Every stumble is a lesson that makes you wiser and more resilient. Ask yourself: What did this teach me? This removes the fear of failure and gives you courage to keep going.
Acknowledge and validate your emotions: Don’t suppress anger, sadness, or fear. Name them: “I’m frustrated because…” Writing what you feel in a journal or talking to someone you trust helps process them without letting them control you.
Practice self-compassion: Treat yourself with the same kindness you’d offer a struggling friend. When you make a mistake or face a problem, tell yourself, “It’s normal to feel this way, I’m doing the best I can.” This reduces self-criticism and strengthens emotional stability.
Strengthen your support network: Connect with people who listen and inspire you. A call, a coffee, or a message to someone who understands you can be an anchor. You don’t have to face everything alone; human support is key to resilience.
Find meaning in adversity: Not everything in your day has to be beautiful, pretty, or full of clichés. Reflect on what you can learn from a problem. For example, a loss can teach you to value the present. Ask yourself: How does this make me stronger? This shift in perspective gives purpose to pain.
Accept what you can’t control: Identify what’s beyond your reach (like others’ actions) and focus on what you can change (your attitude, your decisions). This reduces frustration and empowers your emotional response.
Seek professional help if needed: Talking to a therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, or counselor can provide specific tools to manage overwhelming emotions that could lead to depression or anxiety over time. Discussing your concerns with someone outside your circle of friends or family is advisable and liberating.
Practicing these tips regularly, even when things are going well, builds a habit of resilience and keeps your strength alive, with the flame burning. It’s not about being invincible but knowing you can get back up, no matter what. Choose one or two that resonate with you and start today; every small effort adds to that inner fire you already carry.
I think this is where I’ll end my personal reflection for today. Thank you for joining me in this video from start to finish. May my Creator and Sustainer allow my husband and me to share again in a new opportunity granted by life.
To wrap up, I want to leave you with a medley I asked artificial intelligence to create for this post. It might serve for your moments of personal meditation, to relax for a while, to sensitize your senses, and elevate them to a level that might even inspire you to write a literary work in prose or verse—not necessarily to publish, but just for you, to release, to empty yourself of daily tensions.
A big hug, and may you have a wonderful day, with peace in every corner.
See you soon.

Dracula
Jonathan Harker, a young English solicitor, begins his journal on May 3, documenting his journey from Munich to Transylvania to finalize a real estate transaction with Count Dracula. Departing Munich on May 1, he arrives in Vienna the next morning, delayed by an hour, and notes the transition from Western to Eastern Europe as he crosses the Danube into Buda-Pesth. The cultural shift feels palpable, with the East evoking a sense of mystery and tradition. He spends the night in Klausenburg at the Hotel Royale, enjoying a spicy local dish, “paprika hendl,” which he finds delicious but thirst-inducing. He makes a note to share the recipe with his fiancée, Mina, reflecting his practical and affectionate nature.
In London, Harker had researched Transylvania at the British Museum, learning about its remote, mountainous region near the borders of Transylvania, Moldavia, and Bukovina, home to diverse ethnic groups like Saxons, Wallachs, Magyars, and Szekelys, the latter claiming descent from Attila’s Huns. The Carpathians, he discovers, are a hotbed of superstition, which piques his curiosity about his destination, the elusive Castle Dracula, located near Bistritz. Unable to find precise details about the castle, he relies on the knowledge that Bistritz is a notable town.
Harker’s sleep in Klausenburg is restless, disturbed by a howling dog or perhaps the spicy food. He breakfasts on more local cuisine—mamaliga (maize porridge) and impletata (stuffed eggplant)—and hurries to catch an early train to Bistritz. The train’s delays frustrate him, and he muses about the increasing unpunctuality as one travels east, wondering humorously about trains in China. The journey offers stunning views of the Carpathian landscape, with hilltop villages, rushing rivers, and colorful peasant attire. He notes the Slovaks, with their distinctive cowboy hats and studded belts, as particularly striking, though their appearance borders on menacing, like brigands from a stage play. Despite their picturesque look, he’s told they’re harmless.
Arriving in Bistritz at twilight, Harker finds a historic town marked by a turbulent past, including fires and a 17th-century siege that claimed thousands of lives. Following Count Dracula’s instructions, he checks into the Golden Krone Hotel, an old-fashioned establishment that aligns with his desire to experience local culture. The innkeeper’s wife greets him warmly, confirming his identity as “the Herr Englishman.” She hands him a letter from Dracula, welcoming him to the Carpathians and arranging a diligence (coach) to Bukovina the next day, where the Count’s carriage will meet him at the Borgo Pass.
The next day, May 4, Harker senses unease among the innkeeper and his wife when he inquires about Dracula and his castle. They grow evasive, crossing themselves and refusing to elaborate, which unsettles him. Just before his departure, the innkeeper’s wife, visibly distressed, begs him not to go, warning that it’s the eve of St. George’s Day, when evil forces hold sway at midnight. Her fear is palpable, but Harker, bound by duty, gently declines to delay his trip. In a heartfelt gesture, she places a crucifix around his neck “for your mother’s sake,” which he accepts despite his Protestant reservations about such symbols. Her fear, combined with the region’s superstitions, leaves him uneasy as he boards the late-running diligence.
On May 5, Harker records his journey through the breathtaking Carpathian landscape, with its fruit blossoms, pine woods, and snow-capped peaks. The diligence driver pushes the horses relentlessly, and passengers, a mix of locals, grow anxious, offering Harker gifts and making signs against the evil eye. He overhears words like “Ordog” (Satan), “pokol” (hell), and “vrolok” (vampire or werewolf), heightening his apprehension. The crowd at the inn, watching his departure, crosses themselves, their pitying looks amplifying the ominous mood.
As night falls, the diligence races through the Borgo Pass, the passengers urging the driver to hurry. Harker expects Dracula’s carriage, but none appears, and the passengers seem relieved when the driver announces he’s not expected. Suddenly, a calèche with four black horses arrives, driven by a tall, bearded man with gleaming eyes that seem red in the lamplight. The driver’s strength is striking as he helps Harker transfer his luggage, and his sharp teeth and hard mouth unsettle Harker further. A passenger quotes a line from Burger’s “Lenore” about the dead traveling fast, and the driver’s knowing smile adds to the eerie atmosphere.
The calèche speeds through the dark, winding Borgo Pass, and Harker notices they seem to circle the same route repeatedly, though he hesitates to question the driver, whose grip feels unnaturally strong. As midnight nears, wolves begin howling, terrifying the horses and Harker. The driver calms the animals with an almost supernatural ease, speaking to them softly. Exhausted, Harker dozes off intermittently, waking to the same dark, repetitive journey. Finally, the calèche stops in the courtyard of a vast, ruined castle, its dark windows and jagged battlements looming against the moonlit sky, marking Harker’s arrival at Castle Dracula.
Analysis and Themes
This first chapter establishes the novel’s Gothic tone through Harker’s meticulous journal entries, which blend curiosity, rationality, and growing unease. His observations of Transylvania’s exotic landscapes and customs contrast with the sinister undertones of local superstitions and the mysterious Count. The cultural shift from familiar England to the wild, superstitious East sets up a clash between modernity and ancient folklore, a central theme of Dracula. Harker’s Protestant skepticism about the crucifix and his commitment to duty highlight his rational mindset, which will be tested by the supernatural horrors ahead. The locals’ fear, the driver’s uncanny presence, and the desolate castle create an atmosphere of foreboding, foreshadowing the danger awaiting Harker.
The chapter also introduces key motifs: isolation, as Harker ventures into an unknown land; the power of superstition, embodied in the locals’ warnings and symbols; and the interplay of light and darkness, with the moonlit castle and howling wolves evoking primal fear. Stoker’s detailed descriptions of food, attire, and scenery ground the narrative in realism, making the creeping supernatural elements more unsettling.
Cultural Observations
Stoker’s depiction of Transylvania reflects the 19th-century Western fascination with the “exotic” East, portraying it as a land of mystery and superstition. Harker’s detailed observations of local cuisine (paprika hendl, mamaliga), attire (Slovak belts and peasant dresses), and ethnic diversity (Saxons, Wallachs, Szekelys) reveal his curiosity but also his outsider’s perspective, tinged with a sense of superiority. His comparison of Slovaks to stage brigands and his musings about train delays in China betray a Western bias, viewing the East as less civilized. The locals’ superstitions—crosses, evil eye charms, and fear of St. George’s Day—contrast sharply with Harker’s rational, Protestant worldview, highlighting the cultural divide. This tension underscores the novel’s theme of modernity versus tradition, with Transylvania as a liminal space where ancient beliefs challenge Enlightenment ideals.
Gothic Elements
The chapter masterfully establishes the Gothic atmosphere that defines Dracula. The Carpathian landscape, with its rugged peaks, dark forests, and howling wolves, evokes a sublime sense of beauty and terror. The ruined castle, with its lightless windows and jagged silhouette, is a classic Gothic setting, symbolizing decay and the unknown. Stoker builds suspense through Harker’s growing unease, from the innkeepers’ fear to the passengers’ cryptic warnings and the driver’s eerie presence. Supernatural hints—red eyes, unnatural strength, and references to vampires and werewolves—create a creeping dread, amplified by the midnight hour and the howling wolves. The interplay of light and darkness, from the moonlit castle to the flickering calèche lamps, enhances the eerie mood, while the isolation of the Borgo Pass and the castle foreshadows Harker’s vulnerability.
Character Development
Harker emerges as a quintessential Victorian gentleman: rational, dutiful, and curious. His journal reflects his methodical nature, with precise details about times, places, and recipes, grounding the narrative in realism. His affection for Mina humanizes him, while his Protestant discomfort with the crucifix reveals his adherence to English norms. As he encounters the locals’ fear and superstitions, his skepticism begins to waver, hinting at an internal conflict between reason and the unknown. His decision to proceed despite warnings shows his commitment to duty, but his unease and acceptance of the crucifix suggest a dawning awareness of forces beyond his understanding. The mysterious driver, with his strength and cryptic demeanor, serves as a foil, embodying the enigma Harker is about to confront.
If you want to listen to the Spanish version of the chapter, I share it.

Music is also connected to culture, mysticism, art, food, various ceremonies, beliefs, and religion. This time, the song you can hear reflects an ancient connection that exists among various communities with Islamic traditions.
The Sufi Whirling Dervish dance, also known as the Sema ceremony, is a captivating spiritual practice rooted in the mystical traditions of Sufism, a branch of Islam that emphasizes the inner path to divine love and knowledge through direct personal experience of God.
Origins in Sufism
The Whirling Dervish dance originates from the teachings of Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī (1207–1273), the famous Persian poet, Islamic scholar, and Sufi mystic. Rumi believed in the power of music, poetry, and dance as a path to union with the divine. His followers, known as Mevlevi dervishes, institutionalized his teachings into a formal spiritual order in Konya, in present-day Turkey.
The Dance as a Spiritual Practice
The Sema ceremony is not merely a dance; it is a sacred ritual that symbolizes the soul’s journey toward God. Dervishes wear symbolic clothing:
A white gown representing the burial shroud,
A black cloak symbolizing the grave,
A tall felt hat (sikke) representing the tombstone of the ego.
The dance begins with the removal of the black cloak, signifying spiritual rebirth. The dervishes then spin in repetitive circles, typically counterclockwise, with one hand raised to the sky (to receive divine grace) and the other pointing to the earth (to channel that grace to the world). This turning is both physical and metaphysical: a reflection of the movement of the planets and the surrender of the ego to the love of God.
Symbolism of the Whirling
The whirling itself is deeply symbolic. It reflects: The rotation of the universe—everything, from atoms to galaxies, turns. The annihilation of the ego (fana) and the journey toward divine unity. The cycle of death and rebirth, as the dervish spins out of his material self and into spiritual enlightenment.
Historical Development
The Mevlevi Order became influential in Ottoman society and was officially supported for centuries. Their ceremonies were both spiritual and cultural events. However, in 1925, under the secular reforms of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Sufi orders were banned in Turkey. The Whirling Dervishes went underground for a time, but the dance survived as both a spiritual ritual and a cultural performance.
In 1954, the Turkish government began allowing the Sema ceremony to be performed publicly, though mostly as a tourist and cultural display. In 2005, UNESCO declared the Mevlevi Sema Ceremony a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Contemporary Practice
Today, the Whirling Dervish dance continues to be practiced both as a sacred rite by followers of Rumi’s spiritual path and as a cultural symbol of Turkish heritage. While some view the public performances as a dilution of the original spiritual essence, others see them as a bridge connecting the mystical and modern worlds.
The Sufi Whirling Dervish dance is more than an artistic expression—it is a meditative journey, a form of prayer, and a poetic embodiment of surrender to divine love. Its enduring legacy speaks to the universal human longing for transcendence, unity, and inner peace.
The word "dervish" (from Persian darvīsh, meaning "one who seeks doors") refers to a member of a Sufi order—a mystic branch within Islam focused on the inward search for God and the renunciation of worldly pleasures. Dervishes are often associated with spiritual poverty, humility, and deep devotion, living simple lives in pursuit of divine truth.
Origins of the Dervishes
The roots of the dervish tradition lie in the early centuries of Islam, particularly from the 8th to the 12th centuries, when Islamic mysticism (later known as Sufism) began to take shape. Sufism emerged as a response to what some Muslims saw as the growing materialism and rigid legalism of mainstream religious practice. These early mystics sought a more direct, personal experience of God, emphasizing inner purification, asceticism, and divine love.
The Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad—especially those emphasizing love, mercy, humility, and detachment from materialism—formed the spiritual foundation for these mystics. Over time, they formed Sufi brotherhoods, or tariqas, each following the teachings of a founding master (or shaykh/pir). From these brotherhoods arose the dervishes, who were dedicated followers of the Sufi path.
Life and Practice of the Dervish
Dervishes often live communally in tekke (lodges) or khanqah (retreat houses), where they dedicate themselves to spiritual practices, including:
Dhikr (remembrance of God through chanting or recitation), Meditation, music, and poetry. Service to others as a form of devotion. Poverty and detachment from material wealth. Their way of life mirrors the Sufi ideal of becoming "nothing" in order to be filled with God’s presence—a state referred to as fana (the annihilation of the ego).
Famous Sufi Orders and Dervish Branches
Several important Sufi orders have produced dervishes, each with distinct rituals and teachings. Some of the most notable include:
The Mevlevi Order: Founded in Konya, Turkey, by the followers of Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī. They are best known for the whirling dervish dance (Sema), which is both a meditative and symbolic act of spiritual ascent.
The Qadiriyya: One of the oldest Sufi orders, founded by Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani in Baghdad. Known for their emphasis on charity, spiritual discipline, and public preaching.
The Naqshbandiyya: Known for silent dhikr and strict adherence to Islamic law. This order spread widely across Central Asia, Turkey, and South Asia.
The Chishtiyya: Flourished in South Asia, especially India, and emphasized music (qawwali), love, and openness to people of all backgrounds.
Cultural and Spiritual Influence
Dervishes played a significant role in the spread of Islam, especially in regions like Anatolia, Central Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. Their poetry, music, and inclusive spirituality helped bridge cultural gaps and offered a mystical dimension to the Islamic faith that resonated across societies. They have also influenced literature, philosophy, and art—Rumi's verses, for example, have become universal symbols of divine love and human longing.
Dervishes Today
In modern times, dervish orders continue to exist, though many face challenges due to secularization, political repression, or misunderstanding of their role. In some countries, their public ceremonies have been restricted or transformed into cultural performances. Nevertheless, the spiritual legacy of the dervishes remains vibrant. Their teachings of compassion, love, and humility are still deeply relevant in a world often marked by division and materialism.
The dervishes are the spiritual seekers of the Islamic world, rooted in the rich traditions of Sufism. Their lives are dedicated to the pursuit of divine truth, not through external doctrines, but through the transformation of the heart. Their path reminds humanity that the way to God lies not in power or possessions, but in surrender, silence, and love.

Songs evoke emotions, sometimes the silence of words is enough while the musical notes take shape and life, however, there can also be a poem that accompanies the message... like this one:
Turning Silenc
In circles drawn upon the floor,
Bare feet kiss earth in quiet grace,
Eyes half closed, the breath a thread,
Each turn a tear the spirit weeps,
Around, around, the stillness swirls,
So let the body fall away,

Istanbul and its melodies...
Istanbul is an enchanting city where two continents kiss beneath a sky painted with dreams. The Bosphorus, a glittering sapphire ribbon, intertwines with the soul of the place; its waters whisper ancient love stories as they dance between the shores, reflecting the golden hues of sunrise and the silver glow of dusk.

The Galata Tower rises like a poet's sentinel; its weathered stones guard centuries of secrets, gazing down at the rooftops that blush with the tender caress of sunset. From its crest, the city unfolds like a lover's letter; every curve and every spire is a verse of longing, transporting me back to the days when I walked its cobbled paths, my footsteps echoing with its own. In the waters, the Maiden's Tower floats like a delicate jewel, a solitary muse adorned with tales of devotion and mystery. Bathed in the soft mist of the morning or shimmering beneath the gentle caress of the moon, it stands like a beacon of eternal romance, whispering promises to those who listen with their hearts.

The Blue Mosque, with its cascading domes and slender minarets, is a symphony of serenity; its blue tiles reflect the light like a lover's fleeting glance. Within, the air vibrates with hushed reverence, intricate patterns swirling like poetry written for the divine, evoking memories of whispered prayers and the warmth of belonging.

And, ah, The Grand Bazaar: a vibrant tapestry woven in the colors of saffron, crimson, and emerald, where the air is infused with the perfume of spices and the sweet seduction of rosewater. Lanterns sway like fireflies, casting a warm glow over stalls brimming with treasures: silks that slip through your fingers like a lover's touch and sweets that melt on your tongue; each bite a memory of joy shared in crowded alleys filled with laughter.

Every corner of this place sings to me, a melody of heritage and heart, transporting me to the cradle of my past, where the echoes of my lineage linger on the breeze. I long to return, to lose myself in its embrace, to feel the pulse of a city that holds my soul in its eternal beauty.

Dreams of Istanbul
In dreams I walk where seagulls cry,
The scent of çay in tulip glass,
The Blue Mosque calls with silent grace,
Galata stands, old heart of stone,
Out in the strait, the waters part
And oh—the moon on Bosphorus!
Each breeze that sweeps across the quay
I ache to trace the stones once more,
O Istanbul, you call, you burn—

Soft Melodies
The velvet hum of night began to bloom,
He, master of the stage, the voice, the flame,
