THINK | READ | SHOP | DO | GRAB
Every week we have a recurring segment and I share my favorite things: Tangible products to use, things to walk away with, above and beyond the inspiration of these conversations
Think: This week’s Rebellious Perspective: What if tackling nutrition + health education along food distribution in food deserts and beyond was a rebellious act? Would it make it more appealing? We have the friends, KEto is the only way, we have the others, w the Organic memes, the conspiracy theorist friends, we have them too… But what if we brought it back to simplicity. Before organic, before labels of what kind of eater you are. What if we actually acknowledged that there is a world of people, just down the street, maybe even yourself who has never read the back of a food label, doesnt know how to cook vegetables, eats processed food out of lack of education and lack of resources? In doing my research for this podcast it really struck me, Asha makes it look so beautiful and does it all with such grace, but her work is inherently rebellious- she is bucking the systems, the corporate greed, the fda, big pharma, and fast food industries- that’s a huge undertaking. So if you feel compelled to take this on with Asha, I urge you to 1 get involved get your hands dirty if you are local, 2 donate to her organization and 3 get involved in your city, looking for other organizations who might be doing anything similar
