Robby Barbaro, MPH, is an internationally recognized diabetes expert and New York Times bestselling co-author of Mastering Diabetes who has helped countless people reverse insulin resistance and take back full control of their metabolic health. He has been living with type 1 diabetes since 2000, has a current A1c of 5.4%, and a time-in-range above 80% while maintaining an active lifestyle.
In today’s episode, we look beneath those accolades to learn more about what drives his passions and pursuits. Robby shares things he has never spoken about before in interviews, such as his spiritual perspective on living with Type 1 diabetes and how that has shaped his personal relationship to the condition, as well as his goal to reverse it in this lifetime.
We discuss why he chooses to eat a raw plant-based diet, whether he ever feels restricted in this lifestyle, his experience training for an Ironman, and how he uses disciplined behavior as a form of self-love. He even shares some insights in some of his other little-known passions: communication and building healthy relationships.
Robby is a dear friend and one of my favorite humans. I’m really excited to get to share this conversation with all of you and I’m sure that you’ll leave with little nuggets of wisdom to serve and guide you.
