Record Royale

A couple of fellow Novacastrians Cody Brougham and Nick Crameri from everyone's favourite local band Underlay join us this week to chat two of their faves! It's Beach Fossils' third studio album 'Somersault' up against the 2018 release from Last Dinosaurs 'Yumeno Garden'. Two albums on the same wavelength, but different ends of the spectrum. Enjoy!

Two legends from Wollongong band Good Lekker, Mal Hurley and Hamish Starr are on the show this week to chat all things The Front Bottoms and their 2013 record 'Talon of the Hawk' against Verge Collection's debut effort 'Flaneur'! Not only do we dissect these albums, but we have the most in depth Shark Tank segment yet and tell a couple of great yarns. Enjoy!

We're back with another one! Another episode featuring a Cloud Nothings record. A few weeks ago they were only a name to us and now we know a chunk of their discography. Which is a good thing. We're joined by Lewis Matte, the singer and guitarist of hectic Melbourne band Sophisticated Dingo to chat Wavves 'Afraid of Heights' vs. Cloud Nothings 'Here and Nowhere Else'! Had a great time recording this one. And yes, Shark Tank is here to stay for season five. Enjoy!

Season five is here pals! Kicking it off with JT and Bassy from Between You & Me to chat all things Seaway 'Big Vibe' and The Dirty Nil 'Fuck Art'. A couple of recent albums that encapsulate this new sound in the punk scene that we are very much about. We also debut our new segment 'Shark Tank'! This was a very, very fun one, enjoy!

Between You & Me's new single 'Deadbeat' is out now on Hopeless Records, listen here: https://spoti.fi/2WEWtyI

A last minute reschedule has left us no choice. We must compare LMFAO 'Sorry For Party Rocking' and 3OH!3 'Want'. We don't make the rules. It must be done. Thankfully our guy Joe Willis from Split Feed and Dead Mall is joining us to chat these two outrageously outdated albums. A very fun one. Enjoy!

We're joined by our new resident pop-music correspondent Rachel Maria Cox this week for a couple of bloody large 2019 albums ~ Harry Styles 'Fine Line' and Taylor Swift 'Lover'! As per expected, both were hugely successful albums on the charts, and have a fair few banging tracks throughout. Enjoy!

Tom Otten and Sam McRae from Melbourne band The Velvet Club join us this week for a couple of all time huge records! Oasis 'Definitely Maybe' vs. Red Hot Chili Peppers 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik'. Two monster breakthrough albums for both bands which get mentioned a lot in any 'best of the 90s' lists. Enjoy!

Eliza Klatt and Kurt Skuse from the brilliant Eliza & The Delusionals join us this week for a couple of straight up brilliant alternative albums! One of the biggest bands of all time, Coldplay, and their huuuuuge 2002 record 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head' goes up against one of Australia's most under-rated bands of all time in City Calm Down and their debut effort 'In A Restless House'! Enjoy pals.
