In which our heroes talk s*** about the Arctic Monkeys debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, Thats What I'm Not.

In the first episode in a slightly new (borrowed) awards format, we're joined by Jamie from Talking Dad UK to chat about the 2006 debut from the Arctic Monkeys.

As well as awarding prizes for best track and considering it as the best debut album of all time, we also ask "Does it deserve the Sean Bean Award for the best thing from Sheffield".

In which our heroes have a birthday!

Holy Smokes, it's been a whole year since we started Records and Bands so we thought we'd celebrate by getting a gang together and having an Indie Disco.
Sam and his friends have made a playlist to demonstrate the UK indie scene of the 2000's. We talk about its relationship to the Britpop years and how it relates to their days of pubs, clubs and gigs.

It's a busy old show but thanks for celebrating our birthday with us.

As always, thanks for listening. If you know someone who likes Records and/or Bands please tell them about our show or if you've got a minute, Leave us a review

In which our heroes talk s*** about American Recordings from Johnny Cash.

Sam and I get deep into what might just be the best run of albums from any artist of all time. The six albums recorded by country legend Johnny Cash, with legendary producer Rick Rubin on his American Recordings label.

It's not all about Nine Inch Nails covers and country standards as we go through each of these records, chatting about our favourite songs, the collaborations and the vitality of this artist during his final years.

As always, thanks for listening. If you know someone who likes Records and/or Bands please tell them about our show or if you've got a minute, Leave us a review

In which our heroes talk s*** about the new album from Ghost.

Leon joins me this week as we chat about massive anniversaries for a 50 year old prog record, Closer to the Edge by Yes, and the record that sparked this 30 year friendship, The Number of the Beast from Iron Maiden as that record turns 40.

We touch on the news that The Wildhearts have announced a hiatus and then, to celebrate St Patricks Day, we briefly discuss the best bands to come out of the Emerald Isle. (Spoiler Alert..... It's Therapy?)

As usual we get into some of the bands and albums we've been listening too since we last spoke before we get into our thoughts on the new album from Ghost, Impera, a conversation that leads us down a little rabbit hole full of 80s hard rock nostalgia.

As always, thanks for listening. If you know someone who likes Records and/or Bands please tell them about our show or if you've got a minute, Leave us a review

Cheers

Rob.
