On Wednesday, January 22, host Judy Comeaux talked with Beth Cowles, Coordinator of Religious Education at St. Anthony’s in Bryan, Texas, about the Holy Spirit and the Sacraments. She started with what we proclaim about the Holy Spirit in the Nicene Creed. We say the second Person of the Trinity became incarnate through the power of the Holy Spirit each time we pray the Nicene Creed at Mass. God the Father brought the Son to us in this extraordinary way - through the Holy Spirit. Beth also talked about the attributes of the Holy Spirit listed in the Nicene Creed: “the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.” According to her, the way we experience God today is through the gift of the Holy Spirit and we receive that gift in the Sacraments! Listen to this episode to learn more and dig deeper into the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit! When choosing between values of heaven and the values of earth, always round up!
