Luke 6, "Reversing the Status Quo". Jesus confronts would be disciples with the reality that the Kingdom of God will turn their world and values upside down. The disicples following Jesus not only receive blessing from the generosity of God but they are to give to others with a matching generosity - of love.

Outcast, Poor, Sinner, Criminal, Bum, Slut, Refugee, Worthless, Fallen. If any of these words describe you Congratulations! You meet the requirement to be a disciple of Jesus. This Sunday we looked at Jesus calling His first disciples in Luke 5.

This Sunday the Son of God and Satan went head to head. Jesus refused to take the easy road but remained faithful and steadfast to the will of the Father in the power of the Spirit. His example teaches and equips us today in our fight against temptation.

The clear teaching of the Bible, along with the example of the early church, is that the people in the church are to pray WITH each other in a regular and consistent way. We are to do this in obedience to biblcial truth and as a means of experiencing God's power at work in and through us. This week we dove into praying together.

What do we do when our prayers are not answered? Join us this Sunday as we look at two examples in the book of Luke to see how Jesus teaches us to pray to the Father.

Have you every wondered why you end your prayers with the phrase "in Jesus name"? Is it just a nice way to wrap up a prayer or is it something much more powerful? Sunday we continued our study on prayer.

During the first five weeks of the year we as a church will be concentrating on prayer. This week we looked at The Lord's Prayer and the petitions Jesus instructs on.

This Sunday we found out what it meant this Christmas to give a gift that causes someone to say not only thank you to you, but also to God. And you don't need to fight the holiday shopping crowds to get this gift, you already have it!

In God's providence, Jesus' parents dedicated the baby Jesus to fulfill the law, yet, in doing so, the events point to Jesus being the saviour of the world.
