In this episode, host Madam Neverstop engages in a deep conversation with Blacqwildflowr, an award-winning poet and performance etiquette instructor. Blacqwildflowr recently traveled from the US to Denmark to participate in the Nature & Culture: International Poetry Film Festival, where she joined us with her poem in the film Vibrant, directed by Dev Thompson.

In Vibrant, Blacqwildflowr's performance intertwines personal and collective narratives, addressing themes of grief, Black boyhood, queerness, and the complexity of identity within a society that marginalizes softness and vulnerability. She reflects on her process of writing and performing the poem, as well as the significance of watching the film live for the first time, struck by the resilience and strength we embody through adversity and pain.

Throughout the conversation, Blacqwildflowr discusses the challenges of navigating life as a Black, queer woman in the United States, and how embracing her identity and using her voice have become acts of resistance and empowerment. Her work, both written and performed, continues to inspire others to confront societal injustices while embracing their authentic selves.

New episode of Red Transmissions Podcast: an illuminating conversation with Dev Thompson, a two-time award-winning director, sound mixer, and producer from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dev's work weaves together personal experience, resilience, and the healing power of storytelling. His short film Brown Boy (2024) received the Founder's Award at the Cindependent Film Festival, and his collaborative project 1+5+4 (2025) earned Best Poetry Film at the Queercine International Film Festival in Ghent. As a sound mixer, his credits include In Pursuit of Favor (2023), a documentary on Georgian winemakers showcased at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival.

In this episode, Dev reflects on filmmaking as an act of courage and self-discovery—on the choices that shape a creative life, the strength found in vulnerability, and the radical possibility of being a gentle man in a world that demands hardness. Patrick Horner (he/him), a Canadian poet and engineer, exists fluidly within Canada / Denmark where he works advancing water treatment technologies. His poetry and fiction have been published in journals and magazines internationally. He is a cultural organizer with Red Door and a co-director of the Copenhagen Poetry Film Festival Nature and Culture. His debut poetic novel, Refugia, was published by the University of Calgary Press in 2022. Episode 80 has arrived!

As part of ARTIVAL RE:CONNECT, a Nordic multilingual cultural festival spearheaded by IMMART, Red Transmissions Podcast presents writer, producer and director Vladislav Nenchev.

Vladislav Nenchev is a part-time human, with a mild compulsion for over-analysis. Vladislav writes short pieces of fiction that explore the fault line between knowledge and emotions, tackling restless questions like: How do we feel? Why? How to use it for better, than for worse? Where the hell are my glasses? Vladislav Nenchev is a part of the following creative collectives: – a member of Helsinki Writers' Group since November 2017; – a member of The Finn-Brit Players since August 2019. With The Finn-Brit Players, Vladislav has participated as a playwright, director, producer, stage manager, sound & lights operator, and, very occasionally, reciting monologues or poems. He also joined The Helsinki University Science Fiction Club in a couple of issues of their fiction newspaper Marvin – The Lehti.

Yemi Butterman is a Nigerian Poet and Narrative Fiction Author who finds solace in all forms of creative symphonies. His love for life is intertwined with a deep interest in literature, culture, and social issues.Yemi is the author of Two Geniuses and a Fool and Pride of the Middle One, his first two published works of fiction that have ignited a profound sense of wonder about language as an end to justifying the disregard of migrants' potential within the Nordic world.

Driven by curiosity, Yemi continues to challenge the notion of "rightness" and "truth," through storytelling, engaging themes such as identity, heritage, and migrant experiences in the North, which greatly shape the trajectory of his writings.
