Bob Gruen is one of the most well-known and respected photographers in rock and roll. From Muddy Waters to the Rolling Stones; Tina Turner to Madonna; Bob Dylan to Bob Marley; John Lennon to Johnny Rotten, he has captured the music scene for over forty years in photographs that have gained worldwide recognition.
Shortly after John Lennon moved to New York in 1971, Bob became John and Yoko’s personal photographer and friend, making photos of their working life as well as private moments. In 1974 he created the iconic images of John Lennon wearing a New York City t-shirt and, standing in front of the Statue of Liberty making the peace sign - two of the most popular of Lennon’s images.
Bob has worked with major rock acts such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Elton John, Aerosmith, Kiss & Alice Cooper. In 1989, he documented the epic trip to Russia of the “Moscow Music Peace Festival” featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and Bon Jovi.
Gruen is THE world’s best rock and roll photographer…from the legendary shot of Lennon on a rooftop clad in the now iconic New York t-shirt to a heart-wrenching shot of a young Sean Lennon curled up in Yoko’s bed not long after John’s murder.

  • Holly Stephey of Red Velvet Media goes wild with Ragin Cajun & The food network!
Join Holly of Red Velvet Media as she talks to old friend and owner of Ragin Cajun Stephen Domingue.
*Stephen is involved in a fun project with the food network.
*Please see the press release below in the blog:)))
The Ragin Cajun Cafe opened in 1992, in beautiful Hermosa Beach, California. It was founded by Stephen Domingue, originally from Cajun country, Lafayette, Louisiana. When he moved to Southern California in 1987, Steve missed the one-of-a-kind cooking he had grown to love back home.
Realizing that no authentic Cajun restaurants existed in Southern California, Steve hit upon the idea of bringing the unmatchable taste of fine Cajun cuisine to theL.A. area. Quickly, he preparedsome of his mother’s own Cajun specialties and began previewing them at local foodfestivals. These "practice runs" were a huge success, and just about everyone who sampled the delicious food asked, "Where’s the restaurant located?" The response confirmed what Steven knew: the time was perfect to make the Ragin Cajun a reality.
The restaurant opened in April of 1992, with an original seating capacity of 36 patrons. Using the food as its own advertisement, Steven and the other employees passed out free food samples to the beach-going crowd walking on the boardwalk. Before he knew it, Stephen had a 45-minute waiting line of eager customers stretching down the sidewalk. By December of that year, the original Ragin Cajun Cafe had been selected by the local paper as the Best Cajun Restaurant in the area – the Ragin Cajun craze had begun.
Now, five years later, Stephen and the Ragin Cajun team keep the menu items limited to only the best, most authentic Cajun dishes, as they continue with their mission to bring the best of Cajun cuisine to more and more people. And every night, the line continues to form on the boardwalk at Hermosa Beach.
