What does the Bible say about elders and the local church? How do we look for elders in the local church?

From 2 Timothy 4:9-22. We follow Paul with great eternal hope, living in continued faith, and trust in Jesus seeking to use all of our life to build His kingdom because we know that God works through people to reach people and because we know that God's promises stand for us if we are in Christ. Do you stand in Christ?

From 2 Timothy 4:6-22. Our God has sent His son to purchase our eternity for those who call upon His name. Can we face eternity with confidence? How, as Christians, are we to live and truly long for His return?

From 2 Timothy 4:1-5. Because of the fallness of the world, God's people need God's word so that God's people can walk with God in God's world. We need God's word proclaimed and we need to hear it well for the glory of Jesus.

From 2 Timothy 3:15-17. In this passage, we see that our faith is established for us in the word of God. Scripture (the word of God) is breathed out by God. It flows from Him and is perfect in every way. The Word of God does not return void and it is good for us. How will you consume the word of God this year and how will you allow the word of God to shape you this year?

Today’s sermon is from 2 Timothy 3:10-17. If we have Jesus, His Spirit and His Word, then God is eager to use us. If you are a Christian, you learned the faith from someone, the question is, who will learn the faith from you?

Is it possible that you have the appearance of Godliness only, but don’t know Christ and you are denying His power? The essence of our faith is being transformed by the power of Jesus. Paul encourages us to not settle for religious performance. We are called to know God, His Son, His Spirit and receive a new heart, a new identify and a new family in Christ.

As we embark on a new year, resolve that Jesus has come to make you His own. As Christians we belong to Christ. We, as Christians, exist to be ambassadors for our King. With that said, how you should we live as Christians? What practical steps can we take?

2 Timothy 1:8-10. Jesus Christ appeared, and in appearing, everything is changed forever. Has the Good News been lost in its words we so frequently speak of? This Christmas, we pray that you would be moved by Jesus Christ.

In 2 Timothy 2:14-26, Paul says that if you are in Christ, God approves of you and God wants to use you. Do you believe that the Lord knows those who are His, and that He calls everyone who names His name to depart from inequity? Will you receive that and go running to His word and His church to be directed toward Him?
