We are to live in the gospel of grace by growing in faith, praying in the Holy Spirit and anxiously awaiting Christ's return while showing mercy to other and worshipping our great God.

Esther is the only one is in all the kingdom with whom the Kind is well-pleased, prophesying of the only One with whom God is well-pleased.

We are to contend for the gospel of grace that frees us from the power of sin and gives us life in Christ and we are to reject ungodliness that uses grace as a license to sin and brings God's judgment.

As the Jewish leaders plan the death of Christ, John the apostle wants to drive home the reality that Jesus' death on the cross would be a substitutionary death, where he would take the place of those who trust in Him. Jesus is the good shepherd who came to lay down His life for His sheep, so that they might have eternal life. Jesus calls His sheep; they hear and recognize His voice, and they go and follow Him.

Jesus is the long-awaited Messiah, the light of the world, who has come to open the eyes those who are spiritually blind and to blind those who arrogantly think they already see. All of us are born spiritually blind and in desperate need of Jesus to give us new eyes and thus, we must humble ourselves and look to Him to do this miraculous work in our lives.

In this sermon we'll see that all of us are born in sin, choose sin, and are enslaved to sin outside of Christ. Jesus, who is God in the flesh, came to earth on the world's greatest rescue mission to free his people from their slavery to sin and all who genuinely trust in Him are freed from this tyranny and their changed lives serve to help demonstrate this reality.
