Welcome to our 5-week series, A Classic Christmas. Leading up to Christmas Eve, we will spend our time together in the first two chapters of Luke. This week, we will focus on preparation. Often, when we think of the classic Christmas, we think of waking up, running downstairs, eating treats, and opening up gifts. What we don’t think about, especially as kids, is all the work that happened in advance. Our classic Christmas didn’t happen in a night —but over weeks, months, even years.

What it is, why it’s important and valuable, and how we can protect it as we walk it out. We need to remember that, as Christians, we need to be more committed to righteousness than to being right!

People seemed to love angels, especially in the 90s. We had Touched by an Angel, the Preacher’s Wife, and my favorite, “Angels in the Outfield.” There was a time when we seemed to generally understand that there was a difference between good and evil, right and wrong.

In Week 2 of our “Got Questions?” series, we’re exploring the reality of Hell—the necessary counterpart to the great doctrine of Heaven explored last week. We look to Scripture for three simple, crucial truths about Hell we must understand and embrace to grasp and communicate this important doctrine fully.
