Week four of our Devoted series takes us to Psalm 19. Here, we see David delighting in the Lord and His Law as he describes the beauty and perfection of God’s Word. Follow along as we look at David’s pattern to foster devotion. We’ll focus on verse 7 — the Word of God is perfect and sure.

In week three of our Devoted series, we move to 1 Samuel 16:14-23. In our quest to be devoted (so that we can grow into becoming dangerous friends), this passage provides a very clear contrast, showing us what kind of dangerous we might be. We see this through the difference in how Saul and David handle their lives. This message will walk us through two negatives from Saul’s example and two positives from David’s as we look at what David’s inner devotion was before his outward deployment.

Last week, with the start of our Devoted series, we began our journey towards becoming dangerous friends. We covered five ways to pursue this —one of which was moving from outward consecration to inward devotion. There is nothing dangerous about simply being a Christian committed to Christ from a superficial perspective. The danger comes when the fire breaks into the heart. Interestingly, some say that Psalm 39 is one of David’s first Psalms, and others say that it was his last. Withoutpicking a side, it is a beautiful reflection of the inner man,

This week, we kicked off our Devoted series, studying the life of David. Why Devoted? Our first-quarter theme in 2025 is focused on Becoming a Dangerous Friend. We see a DEVOTED trendline in David’s life. Besides Jesus, David was one of the most Dangerous Friends in Scripture. This series will take us through David’s life and challenge us to walk similar paths. Now, we pick up the story before David was somebody.
