Vision Sunday
John 3:16-17

We are loving and generous people because Jesus is loving and generous. Now He has sent us into Fort Worth, Texas to love people, to welcome people into our church and into our lives because we love them like Jesus loves us!

• For God so loved: This is love that is stronger than death. God is love and He always acts in consistency with His character; therefore, He cannot stop loving you.
• The whole world: God’s love crosses borders and barriers unlike any other force in the history of the world.
• That whoever believes: Whoever means whoever. No matter what you’ve done; no matter your sin. Belief is a real trust in Jesus’ work and in His Person.
• Should not perish but have eternal life: People who do not believe in Jesus will never experience life in its fullness here on earth, and they’ll be separated from God forever after this life.
• God’s heart for you is salvation. Not condemnation. He sacrificed His own Son. Jesus willingly gave His life for you! 
• Jesus really loves people! God the Father sent God the Son, and now God the Son has empowered us with God the Spirit to reach this city and love others like He loves!

We are called to stand up, show up and speak up for God's glory! When we see brokenness in the world it should call us to action.
Paul's message :

• Starts with connecting with the people
• He proclaims their Unknown God is now Known in Jesus
• God's Call- Repent

The Response:

• Some of the people: Sneered, Doubted, Believed
• It's a process, you have to give God time to work.

A Child is Born!
Luke 2:1-7

The birth of Jesus gave new significance to the name Immanuel, because Jesus lived among us, died for us, and sent His Spirit to indwell us. Jesus came to save us, and He came to be with us. He broke through the silence to be our Rest, and He wants to offer you that Rest this week at Christmas.

• God’s timeline is different than my timeline.
• I get my identity from Jesus. 
• God wants to be close and personal with you because He loves you.

You’re never alone. You’re never unseen.  Jesus cares! He knows you.
He sees you. He WANTS you!

The Genealogy of Jesus
Luke 3:23-38

What we see in this passage is God’s master plan, from the very beginning, to corroborate Jesus’ credentials as the Messiah— the Christ. Every page of this perfect book is about Him… Jesus. And He wants you to know that He’s the Messiah, because He wants to save you!

• Jesus' Genealogy is important. Any claim to royalty back then had to been verified.
• The real reason that God goes to such great lengths to show us that Jesus is His Son? LOVE.
• Luke's genealogy list of Jesus shows how the Messiah links with all of humanity.

Mary starts her song by singing, “My soul magnifies… the Lord.”   She does not make it about herself. We’re called to magnify Jesus and be his hands and feet in Fort Worth and around the world. The real joy of following Jesus is... following Jesus; to follow in His footsteps, to see what He did, and to act just like Him. 

• We exist to magnify Jesus
• Jesus sees: the other, the overlooked, & the obvious
• Mary accepts this high calling in her “humble estate", praising the Lord and giving all credit to Him

The bible has some tips for how you can make your life... life-proof; built for whatever life will throw at you.  Build your life on the firm foundation of Jesus. Make Jesus the Cornerstone of your life by placing your faith in him and building up your faith.
How do you build up your faith?

• Read the Bible pertinently. 
• Obey the Bible persistently. 
• Prove the Bible personally.

United in Prayer
Ephesians 6:10-20

In this scripture, Paul is warning us—God’s people—that living for Jesus will bring adversaries and hate that often don’t even make sense. But our Lord carries us through life as we are strong only in the Lord! 

Satan’s Playbook:

1. Doubt God’s Word (Gen 3)
2. Consumption, Security, and Status (Matt 4)
3. Tempt me to act independently from the Father (Gen 3 and Matt 4)

Put on the armor of God:

1. Belt of truth: We fasten the belt of truth by soaking our minds in the inerrant Word of God.
2. Breastplate of righteousness: Deny sinful temptations & pursue righteousness at every turn. 
3. Gospel of peace: Because of the gospel, we stand ready! We stand strong!
4. Shield of faith: Have faith to walk in His way & to stand behind His impenetrable shield.
5. Helmet of salvation: Let the gospel protect your thinking. Believe what God says about you!
6. Sword of the Spirit: Our weapon against Satan is the Word of God!

We all know and understand the incredible feat that stands before parents today  to guide our little ones through a treacherous world where the devil prowls like a roaring lion, seeking to devour. It’s hard being a parent.  But God is calling parents to raise those precious children, that He has entrusted to them, up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. 

• Children, obedience invites blessings into your life.
• Parents, be fair, loving, and consistent with your kids.
• Give your children Christ-centered instruction.

Love and Respect
Ephesians 5:21-33 (B)

The Bible is calling husbands and wives to have unconditional love and unconditional respect for each other.  When a husband feels disrespected, it’s especially hard to love his wife. When a wife feels unloved, it’s especially hard to respect him. This is how we get caught in the crazy cycle. So, the million-dollar question, how in the world do we avoid or get out of the crazy cycle? 

3 ways:

1. Commit to unconditional love and respect
2. Proactively show love and respect
3. Argue with love and respect
