On February 27, 1844 the Dominican Republic declared independence from the Republic of Haiti (also known as Ayiti). The history of these two countries and the resulting differences in economic state, systematic racism and oppression are important topics that we will discuss today. On today's episode our hosts Fausto y Briar Rose are joined by Redisovering Latinidad's cover artist George (who has Dominican heritage), and artist Jima (who has Haitian heritage).
