Since we're such studious students, we decided to break out our knowledge and spend some time in the Studi hall -- that's the Wes Studi hall. Still reeling from our interview with Wes Studi, we decide to have a discussion about all things Wes. Favorite performance, what we'd like to see him do and just a general fan worship of Wes Studi.
So, go Wes young persons and listen in as we fan out in the Studi hall.
And remember, whether you're in the Studi hall or anywhere else, don't just keep it real, keep it
REEL INDIGENOUS!
We kick off 2023 with a movie legend: Oscar Award Winner Wes Studi!
In his first podcast appearance, he talks about his early work with Cherokee language preservation, the beginning of his acting career in the basement of The Church Studio in Tulsa, his favorite actors and genres, and more, including his reoccurring character on the ground-breaking series Reservation Dogs.
His early appearance mentioned in the podcast in The Flash is available on Tubi TV, and his work on The Trial of Standing Bear is on YouTube.
Special thanks to Melissa Bisangi and First Americans Museum for the assist with this exclusive interview.
Another year over and deeper in debt for most of us, but a great year for Indigenous Media content.
In this episode, we'll talk about things we loved about 2022 and some things we didn't.
We also talk about our hopes and things we look forward to in 2023.
And don't forget, FAM in Oklahoma City is having a screening of Slash/Back, a film fave of 2022. So, get your tickets here:

If you tell them Sunrise sent you, they might just send you home, so get the tickets online and enjoy this highly loved movie.
It's been a great year for Indigenous Media, let's hope to see more in 2023 -- the year of ECHO.

Remember, while you're out there ringing in the new year, and some sawed-off son of a bitch steps up to you and asks, "Are you keeping it real?"
You look them square in the eye and you tell them, "I don't just keep it real, I keep it
"REEL INDIGENOUS!"
'Tis the season of excess, so we excessively talk about "POWWOW HIGHWAY". Join us for the conclusion of our discussion.
In this episode, we pick up where Buddy and Philbert make a detour to the Black Hills and Philbert has just gotten his vision.
We hope that you enjoy our 2-part discussion and get to have a wonderful holiday season. Take care and have fun and remember there's someone out there who cares and is thinking about you.
We see you, we hear you, we acknowledge you, we love you.
Also, this is the season for giving. So, if you got any bread to pass around, maybe you can pinch a loaf to these lovely organizations:
National Indigenous Women's Resource Center: https://www.niwrc.org/donate
Sovereign Community School: https://www.sovereignschools.org/
and support Native artists! Here's a brief list. Don't forget to check your local artist and support the work they do:
