Ref the District

Just a few days after the regular season ended, Ron Rivera fired Offensive Coordinator Scott Turner.  This seemed to make many fans happy.  But now the search is on for a new coordinator.  Beat reporters are reporting the team has been telling potential OC's that they should be prepared to work with Sam Howell as QB1.  So who would be the best fit?  There are plenty of names available from Frank Reich to Byron Leftwich to Pat Shurmur.  We'll dive into the potential candidates and how they might fit into the team.

We'll also talk with AJ Perez from Front Office Sports to delve into the latest with the sale of the team.  AJ has been all over the story from the beginning and the latest news says that hedge fund billionaire Josh Harris is the current leader and that Jeff Bezos has not submitted a bid at the first deadline.

All that and much more on Episode 104 of Ref The District!

The season has come to an end.  Even though the Washington Commanders ended the season about where everyone expected them to at 8-8-1, it was still a disappointment when they sat at 7-5 and only needed to win 2 of the final 5 games to get into the playoffs.

The front office of Martin Mayhew, Marty Hurney and Ron Rivera spoke at a press conference to wrap up the season and gave a few curious answers to some tough questions.  Then just a few hours later Coach Rivera announced Scott Turner would not return for the 2023 season.

In Episode 103, we'll talk all about the press conference, the firing of Turner, and our end of season awards.  We'll also look forward to another season of uncertainty especially with the impending sale of the franchise.

Steve from Command This! podcast joins Nathan in breaking down Washington's season finale win against Dallas. Where did this win come from? Where was this team all season long? It's good to end on a W.

The Ref team discusses starting Sam Howell at QB, who is going to play for the Commanders on Sunday, and what they have to do to spoil the Cowboys chance at the division title.

Trev and Nathan give their Dallas vs Washington game predictions and then go into Ref the District's Dolla Dolla segment to determine how many picks will be thrown and sacks will be had.

The Ref team sets out to discuss what this season finale against the Dallas Cowboys means for Washington and head coach, Ron Rivera.

And just like that, it's all over. Washington loses to Cleveland 24-10 and then gets eliminated later that afternoon with a Green Bay win. The Ref team is here to break down just what happened and share their thoughts on how this season slipped away from us.

Then EP represents the Heinicke Hive and explains why the Commanders would have won if he started. Nathan might have earned a spot on the couch for taking the other side.

The Ref team and viewers give their game predictions. Scores range from a Washington romp to a disappointing finish. They also give their Dolla Dolla predictions and Trev goes bold!
