The Mayor of Kewanee, Gary Moore, was our guest on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Tuesday, November 29th. The Mayor was on hand to wrap up Monday's Kewanee City Council Meeting. It was a brief meeting where the fate of the long discussed Nelson Avenue was finalized with the City deciding not to move forward with any changes to the little used one way road. The Mayor also discussed three more dilapidated buildings to be torn down across the City of Kewanee and about the presentation by the Kewanee Economic Development Corporation at last night's meeting. Finally, the Mayor addressed the Boiler Shop property but stated that he does not know the new owner of the property or what that owners plan for the property is.

The Christmas Holiday is fast approaching! As Decorations are being drug out of storage and placed perfectly around the house, you think, "I wish everyone could enjoy this". Seven years ago, Steve and Donella Sherry of Under the Son Ministries started the Christmas Home Tour". For one day, four preselected homes in Maryville are opened to the those who purchase a ticket. One ticket covers all four homes. The tickets are 20 dollars each and the proceeds go towards their ministries outreach programs while spreading Christmas spirit and providing Christmas decorating ideas to those who take the tour.

Samantha Rux and Cathy Foes from the OSF Healthcare Foundation joined WKEI on Monday, November 28th, 2022 edition of Wake Up Tri-Counties. According to Samantha, masking remains required at OSF locations for the time being. Though community spread of COVID-19 is down again week to week, and beds are once again opening up at OSF, the masking precaution will remain in effect for another week. This could change next Monday, but for now, masks remain required at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee. Samantha was joined on the show by Cathy Foes with the OSF Healthcare Foundation. Cathy was on hand to talk about Giving Tuesday, Tuesday November 29th, 2022.
