Open Enrollment begins on October 15th and you can contact the Henry County Senior Center to find out if there is a better, more cost effective plan for getting your needed medications. Cassandra Schmoll from the Henry County Senior Center was our guest on Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about Open Enrollment and tell seniors to get in touch if they have any questions regarding Open Enrollment. Cassandra also touted Friday morning cinnamon rolls and the Home Delivered Meal Program with the Henry County Senior Center.

Today on Wake Up Tri-Counties RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department joined WKEI to discuss the lowest number of new test confirmed cases of COVID-19 since April of 2022. Between Henry and Stark County there were a total of 20 test confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the seven days prior to Tuesday, October 4th. This is good news but there is still more to be done as we head into the Winter season. The Henry and Stark County Health Department are set to hold a series of clinics in Henry and Stark County delivering the COVID-19 Bivalent Booster from Moderna for patients 18 and older. And, at the same clinic, people can get their annual flu shot.

The Kewanee Area United Way campaign is underway and throughout the month of October, WKEI will be profiling the non-profit agencies that are aided by donations to the Kewanee Area United Way. The Kewanee Area United Way Halloween Hustle was also discussed on the show. The Halloween Hustle is set for Saturday morning at 10 Am. Jeff Goard from Bishop Hill was our guest on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Tuesday. Jeff was on hand to talk about this Weekend's Bishop Hill Pottery Festival. Saturday October 8th from 10 Am to 5 Pm. It's more than just Pottery as there are going to be displays of many different types of artisan products demonstrated and sold including Basketry, woodworking items, stained glass making, and quilting among others. Jeff joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about the event and how pottery reflects world history and the history in your own back yard.

Natalie Ince is now practicing at the Sheffield Clinic of OSF Healthcare. In a further expansion of healthcare access, OSF Healthcare have added Natalie Ince to the team in Sheffield. Having Natalie on board will allow the Clinic to make more appointments, welcome new patients, and provide care for people unable to travel to far. Natalie was born and raised in Kewanee, attended Wethersfield before going to college and getting a job at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center. She eventually accepted a position in Galesburg. The job at the Sheffield Clinic allows Natalie to work a little closer to home. Patients in Sheffield and surrounding communities can start booking appointments at the Sheffield Clinic of OSF Healthcare immediately.
