Bakersville is back! The annual Halloween celebration in Kewanee returns in October with skits and hayrack rides for the whole Halloween loving family. For the second time, Esther Joy King is running for Congress in the 17th District in Illinois. King, who came up short in her bid to unseat Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, is now up against Democrat political newcomer and well known Quad Cities weatherman, Eric Sorenson. King was in Henry County on Friday, September 23rd for a meeting in Annawan and she was kind enough to stop by Regional Media for a conversation about the Congressional campaign in the 17th District.

The Kewanee City Council wants you to turn out for tonight's Kewanee City Council Meeting. Council member Steve Faber put out the call for Kewanee residents to come to the Meeting of the City Council tonight at 7 Pm to show that you want to know more about the fight against crime. Kewanee Police Chief Nick Welgat is set to lead a discussion of crime at the meeting while highlighting the latest crime stats which you can find in the Kewanee City Council packet. The more people who come to tonight's Council Meeting, the more it demonstrates the need for a citywide meeting regarding crime and get the attention of lawmakers in Springfield to start the ball rolling on perhaps more crimefighting resources.

The Henry and Stark County Health Department have announced a series of Flu Shot Clinics in the month of October. RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department talked about the Flu Shot Clinics on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Thursday morning. RaeAnn stated that not only will flu shots be available but, for those over the age of 18 and who have already had their original two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, the Bivalent COVID-19 Booster Shot from Moderna will also be available during these clinics.
