Linda Blair from the Kewanee Area United Way joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Wednesday to drum up support for the kick off of the Kewanee Area United Campaign kick off. An official launch of this year's United Way campaign will take place on October 14th from 5:30 Pm to 7:30 Pm. 16 non-profit agencies are under the United Way fundraising banner this year and you can support those agencies by supporting the United Way Annual Campaign.

Mike Wignall loves the Cambridge community and now that he's retired, he's giving back by volunteering to lead a big project for the Village. On Tuesday, October 5th, it was announced that Cambridge had received a grant of $10,000 and that the grant would be used to fund what the Village is calling the Cambridge Community Heart and Soul Project. For the next several weeks, Mike Wignall and fellow volunteers will be attending public events to gather information from Cambridge residents to find out what residents would like to see more of in Cambridge. The State Bank of Toulon wants you to be prepared in case you become the target of a scam. Chad Owen is the IT Specialist for the State Bank of Toulon and he joined Nichelle Morey and Doug Blunier to talk about ways to avoid getting scammed and how banks are battling back against threats to cyber security. Doug Blunier also spoke to WKEI about Illinois banks coming together to oppose new federal regulation that would require all banks to report any transaction of $600.00 or more, Doug says banks are opposing this legislation out of concerns over privacy and cyber security as such regulation would require large scale transfers of data on a daily basis from banks to the IRS. The Henry County Mental Health Alliance are hosting One Incredible Day on Sunday, October 3rd at College Park in Cambridge. From 12 Noon until 4 Pm families are encouraged to come to College Park for music, food, games and more and you can hear the stories of mental health progress from people who are overcoming tough times. The music of The Glory Days Garage Band will be featured as well as Pork Chop Sandwiches at One Incredible Day.
