Kewanee City Councilman Mike Komnick joined WKEI on People to People on Wednesday to talk about Monday night's first Budget Meeting of 2021. The City Council was shown revenue numbers on Monday night and they are a mixed bag, some good and not so good news. COVID-19 took a toll on some revenues for the City of Kewanee. That said, the ongoing issues over accounting in the City of Kewanee now being tackled by new City of Kewanee Finance Director Randi Haley after the fallout from the firing of the previous Finance Director, have also had an effect on the budget process. Mike Komnick praised Randi Haley's handling of the issues and tells WKEI that things are improving.
