A lot of High School athletes have been unable to practice or work out as a team due to restrictions related to COVID-19. There is hope however, that High School Sports may return in the new year and with that comes the hope that players have found a way to keep busy during the downtime. Ian Swindler is an Assistant Athletic Trainer at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center and he joined our Coaches Corner program on Saturday with tips for young athletes, High School athletes to stay in shape while they await the return of their sports next year.

Henry County Board Chairwoman Kippy Breeden and Henry County State's Attorney Cathy Runty joined WKEI on Tuned In on Friday to discuss Thursday night's Henry County Board Meeting. Treasurer Tim Wells resigned his position this week and while the newly elected Board Chairwoman could not comment on the Treasurer's resignation we do know how the process of replacing him will go. We also talked about the rescinding of the Restaurant and Bar 25% capacity issue from last week and got the Board Chairwoman's opinion on the matter.

The annual Kewanee Salvation Army Concert wasn't going to happen this year due to COVID-19. Then, Bud Johnson of the Wanee Cinemas got involved. He asked if the concert was going to happen and that if it did and was recorded, he would play the concert on the big screen at the Cinema. That was the plan before the Wanee Cinemas was forced to close for anything other than popcorn sales, but the idea to record the concert persisted. The concert has now been fully recorded and uploaded to YouTube where it can be joined and where you can find information for donating to the Salvation Army.
