Actress Allegra Edwards has her first full time TV gig and she's loving every minute of it. Upload is the latest streaming hit for Amazon Prime. On the show, Allegra portrays Ingrid, the spoiled, rich and clueless girlfriend of the main character played by Robbie Amell. Ingrid earns some of the biggest laughs on Upload with her wonderful performance but it's not a lot of dumb blonde schtick, Ingrid also has one of the most interesting arcs of the series as well. You don't know where the character is heading throughout and it's a fun ride. We talked to Allegra Edwards today on WKEI. All 10 episodes of Upload are available now to binge on Amazon Prime.

RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department was our guest on Tuesday to discuss the latest numbers in our area related to COVID-19. When we spoke to RaeAnn on Tuesday, there were 68 cases of COVID-19 in Henry County, as of Wednesday morning, there are now 69 cases of COVID-19. There are two cases of COVID-19 thus far in Stark County. Henry County has added one case each day since the first recovery data was published one week ago. This is a result of increased testing across the area, testing that is now available to anyone who would like to get tested. Hammond Henry Hospital is one place offering testing opportunities to anyone who would like to be tested.

Kewanee Schools are holding a socially distanced graduation. With the guidance and permission of the Illinois Board of Education, and having consulted with local officials, Kewanee Schools were allowed to have select students and their families, no more than 10 people at 1 time, come into the Good's Gymnasium and collect their diploma and awards while wearing caps and gowns and getting the chance to walk across the stage as past classes have done. It's not the same as a traditional graduation, but it's as close the class of 2020 can get and Dr Chris Sullens joined WKEI on Tuesday morning to talk about how it came together and how it will take three days to get through the whole of the Kewanee High School Senior Class.

The City of Kewanee has a tragic history of fires in the downtown area, specifically around the area of 2nd street. Recently, a significant blaze burned down the place formerly known as The Bat Cave. Thankfully no one was hurt. This fire however, reminded our resident WKEI historian Dave Clark of a fire that happened in almost the exact same spot in Kewanee, on 2nd street, back in 1963. The Kewanee Fire of 1963 was even bigger and received an even more overwhelming response than that of the fire recently on 2nd street. Fire crews as far away as Galesburg and in numbers more than 10 came to help with the Great Kewanee Fire of 1963, known as the Pierce Restaurant Fire.

Willie Terry wants to create a moment of normalcy amid the hardship of COVID-19. For Willie and his friends, that means the Kewanee Wiffle Ball League is back in action. On Friday afternoon at 5 Pm, the first pitch will be thrown and 8 players, 4 on each team, will be ready to play some wiffle ball. But, before you think they are defying stay at home orders or going out of their way to make a point, they are not. They plan on adhering to social distancing, they will be sanitizing the bats and balls between innings and they will each be wearing masks. Most importantly, this is a charity effort. The teams will be at McKinley Park from 4 Pm to 7 Pm on Friday, May 22nd to accept donations that will be given to the Kewanee Food Pantry. Kewanee residents are encouraged to drive up and drop off donations and, as long as you are masked up and adhering to social distance, you can stay and watch the game. It's a chance to do something fun as long as people are willing to do it safely.

Political Analyst and author Michael Law joined WKEI on People to People on Monday. Michael joined us to discuss the Heroes Act, the latest attempt at a new stimulus package. The package put together by the House of Representatives, led by Nancy Pelosi, is seen as the start of negotiations on a new aid package. The President and the Senate have stated that the bill as written has no chance of passage and would be vetoed by the President if it were. What is in the Heroes Act and what might survive from the current version to a compromise version acceptable to the Senate and the President? We asked Michael Law to break it down.
