Richardson asserts that schools are not built for learning and that we forget most of the things we learn in school because the system is based on memorization and retention for the sole purpose of passing tests and getting letter grades. Instead, learning should be built around passion, interest, relevance and actual purpose as we redefine essential skills for the future of work.
