As the All-Star break approaches, Kap and Gordon talk about where the Cubs stand in the division. The Reds are the surprise leaders of the division with a good young team but poor pitching. The Cubs are 7 games back but have good pitching. The guys discuss whether they think the Cubs can overtake the Reds for the division. Will the Cubs be willing to add before the deadline? Will other teams even be willing to deal guys with six playoff spots in each league? And will the Cubs be willing to play the necessary price to acquire any kind of real talent?

They also touch on the meeting that some of the Cubs veterans had with manager David Ross this week. What do they think Ross told the guys in the meeting?

Kap and Gordon also look at the schedule leading up to the deadline. How difficult is the schedule? Will it give them an opportunity to finish July strong? The next couple of weeks will be critical for the Cubs as Jed tries to decide whether or not they buy or sell.
