I was privileged to share an absolute cracker of a yarn with Matt Wallbank this week. He is a man with a great attitude and perspective towards life that surpassed my expectations and hopefully I can implement aspects of that to my life.
We start from the start with a good core friend group and then fly overseas to the UK. Another cricket player on the podcast who retired young. We discuss the lengthy rehab and potentially the inescapable end point of Matts identity, the cricket player. Matt has back packed through Europe with only a carry on bag which is shocking! He also tells the story or going to the Masters and scoring free tickets to an NBA game. Lockdown brought upon two key events of his life but also birthed some greatness.
Matt has started his own charity, The Starters Foundation, and also done two MASSIVE fundraises for I Am Hope. His endeavours are truely inspiring and selfless. He is also the man behind The Kiwi Caddy where he plays some of the best golf courses NZ has to offer. Watch this space as he has some overseas courses in the pipe line too.
Cheers to this legend, enjoy the episode!
