  • Mini-Ep: Your Ex has a New Partner Meditation

Ever seen an Instagram post of your ex with 'the new you'? Lol fucking sucks, huh? We've made a meditation for that.

In the case of this meditation we recorded it from our own personal need of it being ‘a new girlfriend’ but i’d love to hear if anyone listening would like us to create a meditation from another perspective - new boyfriend, new partner - we want to be inclusive and will create another version if there’s the demand so please let us know.

I can remember the exact moment I found out about my ex’s new girlfriend - from the first initial inkling of it and then the dreaded official instagram post which landed right on Christmas eve. I was honestly hysterical and it felt like i had to go through the whole break-up again a second time - i feel like a lot of people still kind of hold on to that feeling in the back of your mind that you might get back together one day and the announcement of a new partner feels like a door slamming shut in your face.

It can be so tempting to compare yourself to their new partner but with this meditation  we want people to feel comforted, empowered and on their way to healing. We're the break-up coach you need right now to get through this fkin nightmare of heartache.

  • Mini-Ep: Phone Addiction Meditation

We're on a two week mid-season break as we catch up on recording!

We'd love to hear form everyone listening on what kind of topics you’d like us to cover and what niche meditations you would like us to create for you. The more specific the better! If you could leave your meditation request as a review in Apple Podcasts, we pinky promise that we will create it.

This week's meditation written and read by Tasmania based meditation teacher Laura Tilley is all about phone addiction - which I genuinely feel is the biggest addiction I’ve ever had to kick - much bigger than cigarettes or sugar. Full transparency, my current screen time is between 4 and 6 hours a day which is insane to me - and something I feel really shameful about if I’m honest.

We know so many people will relate to this and I hope this meditation helps you to refocus your energy and cut down that screen time.

  • Feeling Uninspired Meditation: Relate with Amie McNee

Today's episode is a conversation with the incredible Amie McNee - author, book doula and creativity coach. We talk all about feeling uninspired - all the tried and tested ways to get out of productivity slumps and the ebbs and flows of creativity. We’re currently in lockdown again in Sydney which is definitely not the most inspiring place to be but we feel like these periods of feeling uninspired can appear out of nowhere regardless of external circumstances.

Amie is one of our favourite people to follow on social media - her account is one of our go-to sources for inspiration and encouragement when we're feeling a bit stagnant so we hope you enjoy our conversation and get something out of it that sparks your inspiration into action again.

This episode is also a little different this week because Amie had recorded her own meditation to help with feeling uninspired - it just made sense as her role as a creativity coach and we feel like this is one of our most magical meditations yet.

  • Social Media Meditation: Relate with Mark Conlan

In this episode, we spoke to Mark Conlan - an absolutely incredible illustrator based in Melbourne - all about the pressures to maintain a social presence and stay consistent with posting. With ever changing algorithms and trends, this topic is one we're sure will hit home mainly for people using their socials as their online resume (but sometimes even personal SM use can be stressful too!).

  • Don't Let Small Things Ruin Your Day Meditation: Relate with Georgia Somary

This episode we spoke to Georgia Somary - bass player in Nasty Cherry and founder of No Good resin. Georgia is a friend from back when we were teenagers and she has literally has had the most hobbies and side projects out of anyone I know - she has a license to fly a plane, knows how to make swords and was very into taxidermy for a second there.

We spoke about that moment when something really small and annoying - like someone talking loudly on their phone near you - just ruins your day and kills your vibe. In an effort to create a meditation that means your day isn’t a total right off and to act as a quick reset.

Disclaimer: this episode is chaotic, unprofessional and basically brain chewing gum. Times have been too heavy the last week and we needed some light relief and lols.

  • Mini-Ep: Lockdown Meditation

A second episode drop this week! We thought we'd start releasing mini episodes when the time suits to cover some hyper-specific, niche issues that we personally would love a meditation for. This week, in lockdown, it only seemed fitting to create one that calms the chaos and invites in gratitude for our homes and what we do have whilst under restrictions.

  • Money Manifestation Meditation: Relate with Jess Ruhfus

In this episode, we spoke to tech entrepreneur and professional hand model Jess Ruhfus - founder of collaboration app Collabosaurus - about the touchy, private topic of money. We spoke about her own relationship with money, the social pressure of committing to a set menu and covered pretty much all of our key money memories.

I wanted to put this episode out this week as I feel like money conversations amongst my friends and partner recently have just been cracked open, it’s been being talked about a lot as we all struggle through freelance life through another lockdown here in Sydney.

It’s been funny to listen back to this episode as it was recorded right at the start of the year and l’ve spent the past few months doing a lot of work and education around money mindset over the past few months and identify what my relationship with it is. For Jess, it was a resistance to pay herself what she deserves as a CEO and for me it’s this fear that the money I have is going to be taken away from me. I do also want to acknowledge that although Jess and I both speak from such privileged positions which we’re so grateful to be in - I hope that the meditation we have crafted feels relatable and relevant to everyone listening.

If the struggle is fkin' REAL for you at the moment - have a listen and let's raise those positive money vibes together.

Resources that have helped me exponentially this year with money mindset are:

    • Natalia Benson @nataliabenson + her Magical Money Manifestation Workshops/general IG contributions to the world
    • Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
    • Overcoming Underearning by Barbara Stanny (looks very old school but is very, very good)
    • How to Start a Side Hustle by Kaylene Langford

  • Drinking Too Much Meditation: Relate with Cam Walker aka Struthless

In this episode, we spoke to Cam Walker aka Struthless - an illustrator, cartoonist, animator and I would say mental health pioneer. His YouTube channel has been a source of comfort for me more times than one and i know how many other people he would have helped with his blunt honesty and dark humour too.

This episode is all about sobriety, drunk war stories and the ways drinking can sometimes make us feel about ourselves. We recorded this episode a while back whilst I wasn’t drinking and I’m now recording this intro a week after probably my drunkest night of 2021 which has thrown me into an all-too-familiar mental health spin. I’ve had a love hate relationship with alcohol and despite last weeks’ overindulgence, i’ve managed to get a pretty decent handle now on knowing my limits. It only took me about 10 years, numerous blackouts, one devastating break-up and countless sundays of self loathing but hey progress is progress.

Full disclosure and potentially a trigger warning, this episode does delve into the topic of alcohol and drug addiction so maybe give this one a skip if it’s not for you today.

As we didn’t feel comfortable, confident or to be really honest, capable enough to write and record a meditation about addiction - we’ve created one around not taking your drinking too far and trying to stay true to your good intentions for your evening. This meditation will not be for people battling serious addiction issues and we’d advice anyone going through it to seek professional help and not help on a podcast nicknamed the fast food of meditation

  • Imposter Syndrome Meditation: Relate with Kaylene Langford

We asked "what do you wish there was a meditation for?" to business coach, author and queen of podcasting Kaylene Langford founder of Startup Creative who responded - feeling like an imposter.

Why do we sometimes feel like we're faking our way through our lives?  Having recently published a book - "How to Start a Side Hustle" and  (which will be available as of 7th July and already available for pre-order on Startup Creative website and Amazon!)  and running one of Australia's top business podcasts, a lot of people may be surprised to hear that like the majority of us (mainly women!) imposter syndrome likes to rear it head and rattle her from time to time.

The 'meditation' is at the last 6 minutes of the episode so if you're in need of a quick fix to tack your imposter syndrome - just skip to the end.
