Wow! Our Mother's Day service was off the charts!

Flowers, worship, and a power-packed message from Pastor Angela rocked our Sunday morning! The ladies were showered with blooms, and the atmosphere was buzzing with love and appreciation.

Pastor Angela dropped some serious wisdom bombs, reminding us of the incredible impact mothers have on our lives. It was like a turbo-boost for our hearts!

As you start a new week, take a moment to reflect on Psalm 40:3, which says, "He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him."

No matter what challenges you face, God is always #WithYou, ready to give you a new song of hope and joy. So #StartFresh this Monday with a positive attitude and a heart full of gratitude for all the blessings in our lives.

Trust in God's plan for your life

Remember,  you are loved and valued by God. He has a #purpose for your life, and He will never leave you or forget you. So let's embrace this new week with hope and joy, knowing that God is with us every step of the way

    April 30, 2023                                                                                                 No Offense  Week 3

    Blind-Spot

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.  The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.  I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’  “I tell you that this man, (tax) rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 18:9-14

    Proud people don’t love well

Our Pride is always in our Blind-Spot

... Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. John 13:1

Jesus didn’t make people feel wrong

    He made them feel loved

“My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.  “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:33-35

    Discussion questions:

Name some examples when Pride is presented as a good thing.  (modern, social, culture - heroes, fighters, characters)

Why do you think our own pride is so hard to see in ourselves?

Can you think of a time when you acted out of pride?

What can you do this week to move toward Humility?

How can we stay in a posture of Gratitude?

    Difficult People

    ———————————————

    Critical People

    Controlling People

    Very Needy People

    Hypocritical People

    Arrogant People

    Mean People

How we deal with difficult people?

“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians 4:26-27

    Being offended is inevitable

    Living offended is a choice.

    3 Weapons of Destruction

    Divide

    Distract

    Discredit

Healing for your hurt is only hours away.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen... Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:29, 31-32

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

    Discussion questions:

Which kind of difficult people discussed this week are the biggest struggle for you?

Why do you find it difficult to let go of anger and forgive people quickly?

What are some ways that you can work to build people up according to Ephesians 4:29?

Have you ever been a difficult person?  How can we work to stay forgiving and building people on a daily basis?

Follow Me  Week 6  | You Cant Follow Jesus Alone!

For you and me to thrive spiritually, you need a thriving spiritual community. Jesus didn't do life alone, and you shouldn't either.  He didn't just have disciples, he built a community.
We confuse discipleship with being a student, but being a disciple of jesus is closer to being an apprentice. God is our father and we are his people. We must have community in order to make us how God wants us to be.

Follow Me  Week 4  | Hot Now

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” —Jesus

As Apprentices of Jesus, Our Goal is to live and love in the Way that Jesus lived and loved.

They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” John 2:8-10

Jesus saw what others didn’t have time to see.

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. Luke 19:1-2

Jesus pursued what others thought was pointless!

Complaining today about moments you’ll miss tomorrow.

Don’t miss what you HAVE NOW pursuing what you WANT LATER.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Matt 6:34

Surrender the past you can’t change.

Trust God with a future you can’t control.

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. James 4:13-14 ESV (Mist)

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 NLT (David)

    Discussion questions:

Share about the best day of your life.

Which part of this message was most impactful for you and why?

Talk about some common ways you find yourself getting distracted. How could you start being more present instead?

Do you typically have a harder time surrendering the past you can’t change or trusting God with a future you can’t control? Why is that?
