Remake Rewind

It's time for another topic episode. This time we discuss "twin movies". No not the Danny Devito Arnold flick! We are discussing movies with similar ploys and premises that came out around the same time. This will be a topic we revisit, but for now we are discussing Dante's Peak and Volcano.

Some lines are not meant to be crossed but this one was crossed twice. We watched Flatliners. One was described as The Breakfast club Dies meets St. Elmo’s Funeral. One starred Elliot Page and was largely unnoticed. Both ask interesting questions but did either deliver?

Never has there been a truer definition of a remake! Cursed with production issues, behind the scenes drama, and poor reception of previous DCEU movies, they decided to remake Justice league before it even premiered resulting in box office bomb featuring some of the most recognizable characters ever created. This film completely destroyed the DC universe and cause many movies to be cancelled or completely re-envisioned. After years of rumors and fan petitions the Snyder Cut of Justice League is out. We watched over 6 hours of Justice League and now we will tell you if it was worth it and if the Snyderverse should be restored!

When someone dies in the grip of a powerful rage... a curse is born. The curse gathers in that place of death. Those who encounter it will be consumed by its fury. When a Japanese horror film is remade in the US… we are cursed with a series of Japanese horror remakes. This week we discuss the two American version of the Grudge (2004 & 2020).

There is a thin line between man and beast and one doctor crossed that line twice! We watched Burt Lancaster and Michael York classic, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and it’s 1996 remake that was plagued with behind the scenes drama. Listen to Remake Rewind to learn about the drama behind the scenes caused by Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer. It’s insane!
