We caught up with Kurt from New Regulars after their gig at the Bateau Bay Hotel.
We discuss how the night went and what's next for the band.
We talked about their new album "Give No Reason" which will be out on the 24th of June.
New Regulars
Known for driving riffs, hook-laden grooves, and faultless drums, New Regulars have proven again that they're an up and coming indie rock band to be taken very seriously.
There's a sense of timelessness about this band, probably leading back to their influences, as explained by drummer, Cypress Bartlett, “We have influences ranging from Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendrix to Kings of Leon and The Black Keys. We ended up sounding like New Regulars.”
The 3-piece pack a punch well above their weight in a live setting, having filled rooms across the East Coast of Australia, including Sydney's indie-favourite, Oxford Art Factory, as well as holding their own supporting the likes of punk-rock royalty Jebediah and Aussie legends including Daryl Braithwaite, Pete Murray, Jon Stevens, The Black Sorrows, The Radiators, and most recently, touring with Dean Ray and receiving rave reviews, picking up a stack of followers along the way.
