Hosts James and Diaz are back to once again consider candidates for induction, and this time, they're joined by Very Special Guest Xavier who also brings with him the topic for the week: Guys Best Known For Their Extracurriculars.
Xavier gets things Moving Forward with the only World Series Champion/Latin Grammy nominee double threat we can find (18:06); followed by Diaz's second favorite San Diego State University Aztec, and their post playing career (37:02); before we wrap up with James reminding us that corporate mascots are people too (57:04). Then, it's time for our first Hall of Guy induction of 2022 (1:20:44).

Happy New Year folks, welcome to 2020 2: The Search for Curly's Gold. As Guy sommeliers, we appreciate a good fantasy roster as much as the next person. So, Hosts James and Diaz welcome Very Special Guest Xavier back on the show for one last piece of special holiday programming, where Diaz and Xavier can go deep on everyone's favorite topic: someone else's fantasy team (20:42). Then it's time to turn back the clock and take a look at some memorable fantasy guys from years past who won leagues, lost championships, and unfortunately often then committed domestic crimes (31:18). Don't worry, we saved a bunch of, as far as we know, non-felonious all-timers for last (50:21).
Tune in next week as we return to our regularly scheduled programming with our first Hall of Guy nominees of 2020: First Blood Part II.

Editor's Note: If you're reading this now, it is public knowledge that Matt Araiza is accused of some particularly revolting sexual assault. Given this news, it felt pretty shitty to have celebrated him. This episode was otherwise a very fun one to make for us and we will leave it up. Please know we are regretful of those parts of it.
It's a Boxing Day Miracle! We got special permission to broadcast a portion of that hallowed holiday tradition, the GOTYs. After an encore presentation of this year's ceremonial theme song, our emcees for the evening share some of their favorite categories awarded earlier in the evening (1:36); before turning their eyes to the main event: crowning the 2021 Guy of the Year (15:18).
Happy Holidays everybody!

While hosts James and Diaz usually convene with their Very Special Guest Xavier to discuss Guys, our athletes this week are of a slightly different caliber. That's right, we're taking a week off from doing any real research during the holidays to instead take part in one of our favorite parts of the Great American Past-time: spending way too long arguing about Hall of Fame ballots.

For the first ever meeting of the Hall of Guy's Reliti-Guy-tion Veteran's Committee, Hosts James and Diaz welcome Very Special Guest Xavier to the show for a record setting 10th straight appearance. The trio reach into the back catalog to bring up some of the other two's Guys who deserve a second shot at enshrinement (13:49), before the Veteran's Committee decides on who passes after reconsideration (35:40). Finally, we celebrate a final roll call of the 2021 Hall of Guy class before hunkering down in one fashion or another through the holidays (41:05).

Yup, that's us. You're probably wondering how we got here. Well, it all started when Hosts James and Diaz got together with Very Special Guest Xavier to discuss some Record-Scratch-Moment Guys.
James leads off the order this time with a crash course in Short Track Speed Skating (11:39); Diaz talks about a Guy who really grabbed the bullpen by the horns (37:48); and Xavier tells the story of an ordinary man who saved the city of Los Angeles from some Earthquakes (1:00:50).
Maybe this is just how long these go now?

Put away those Thanksgiving leftovers, because hosts James and Diaz once again welcome Very Special Guest Xavier, and he brought a fresh batch of Individual Sport Guys.
Xavier leads off with a crystal soft drink that isn't Crystal Pepsi (9:46); James talks about an Ordinary Gentleman who wants to make sure you know who he is (31:00); and Diaz brings the Athlete Professionally Known As Prince to the table (52:47).

Hosts Diaz and James this week welcome Very Special Guest Xavier to discuss: Coaches - The Guys Behind The Guys.
James teaches us that if you lived by the interim-head-coach, you die by the interim head coach life (10:32); Xavier tells us about the world's best 72-year-old pugilist (32:44); and Diaz traces the origins of the Butt-Fumble to the 46 Defense (49:20).
Yeah, we went long this week, just go with it, call it Overtime.

The show where we mine our memories for nuggets of nostalgia about peripheral players past and present.

What is Guy? Just ask Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart.
"I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of players I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description, but Guy know it when Guy see it".
